A. Prayer

May, I request everybody to

stand, for us to start the class with a
prayer. Gina please lead the prayer.

Yes Ma’am.
Father God, As we start this new day
for new learning, we ask for Your
guidance. Lead us all the way. May
You let us see through Your eyes,
listen through Your ears, and speak
with Your Mouth. Be with us as we
explore the world. Give us the heart to
love and be kind to one another.

(Checking the attendance
according to seat plan)
3. Setting of classroom rules

Before we start our class, I

want Katherine to recite the
classroom rules that been
agreed. It has been agreed that no uses of cell
phone during classes and if ever
someone will be catch using first
offense 100 sentences of "I promise, I
will never use cellphone in class
again." 2nd offense 200 sentences and
3rd offense 300 sentences and so on
and so forth.

Yes, Ma'am.

Are we good with that?

4. Review of the Past Lesson

Let’s take a quick review of
what we have discussed in our
previous meeting.

Jamaila can you give us your

insight.

Very good! What else? Last meeting, we solve problems

Emjhay. involving geometric figures on the
coordinate plane.

Excellent! Can you give the

general equation of a circle?
Rogem.
We also solve problems involving
circle.
Very good! How about the
standard form? Lyneth.

x 2+ y 2+ Dx + Ey+ F=0 .

Correct! It seems that you

really understand the topic.
x 2+ y 2=r 2 if the originis ( 0,0 )

B. Activity ¿( x −h)2+¿

At this moment, I want you to

cooperate in the game I prepare. Are
you all familiar of the game Deal or
No Deal.

Yes, ma’am!

In the normal Deal or No Deal

game we need only 1 player now we
will choose 2 players that will
represent the team. You will be
given time to decide upon your
group on what number you will
choose. Among the 10 numbers 1
number have the jackpot price, 1
have major prizes and 1 of minor.
Each team will be given 3 changes
to choose if deal of no deal to the
offer I will give in exchange to their
chosen case.

Any question?

Ok let start.

C. Analysis
What did you observe with the
game? Hannah.

Yes, it is! And why is that?

None so far ma’am.

Excellent! Now, what do you think

is our topic for today? Mike. Ok, ma’am.

Correct, it is and it is called

Fundamental Counting Principle.
It so hard to determine where the
prize located ma’am.

Because in the 10 number only 3

numbers have prized the remaining 7
numbers are all bokya.

It is all about possible outcome of a

give situation ma’am.
D. Abstraction

Now, be attentive and take note

as we go on to our discussion.

The fundamental counting principle is a rule to count all the possible

ways for an event to happen or the total number of possible outcomes
in a situation.

It states that when there are n ways to do one thing, and m ways to do

another thing, then the number of ways to do both the things can be
obtained by taking their product. This is expressed as n × m.

Example 1:
Claire has 2 shirts and 2 skirts
of different colors in her closet.
The colors of the shirts are pink
and black, while the colors of the
skirt are black and white. She
wore one of the
combinations, which were a pink
shirt and a white skirt. What do
you think are the other possible
combinations she could try?

Using the fundamental principle

of counting how many possible
combination Claire may have?

She mints wear 4 possible

combination ma’am including the given
Correct! Can you show as the example and this three.
accurate solution? Jamaila.

Excellent! How about this one?

Example 2:
Brad has 2 bananas, 3 apples
and 3 oranges in a basket. In
how many different ways can he
consume the fruits in the
basket?

2 * 2 = 4 ma’am, 2 shirts and 2 skirts.

Who wants to solve? John.

Very good! Let’s have this last

example.

Example 3:

There are 6 children in a

classroom and 6 benches for
them to sit. The class teacher
makes them sit at a different
place every month. In how many
ways can she make them sit in
the classroom?

2 * 3 * 3 = 18 possible ways.
Lyneth, can you show us your
solution.

Excellent!

E. Application

This time I want you to get your

lecture notebook and answer the
following and will check it afterwards
I will give you 5 minutes to solve.

1. Wendy went to buy an ice

cream from a seller who

ice creams, vanilla,
chocolate and strawberry

choices for cones. How
many choices does she

2. Ashton knows there are

7 daily newspapers and 4 6 * 6 = 36 ways she can make them
weekly magazines sit in the classroom.
published in his town. If he
wants to subscribe to one
daily newspaper and one
weekly magazine, how
many choices does he
have?

Are you all done?

Ok, who wants to answer number

1 and number 2? Jamaila and John.

Ok! Let us check.

Excellent! Are your answers the

same with them?
Very good! Do you still have
questions with our topic.

Excellent!

F. Valuing

Now, can anyone of the class cite

example, on how these be
applicable in our daily living? Lyneth.

Yes, ma’am.
Excellent! Who else? Katherine

4. 3 * 6 = 18 choices Wendy
have.
Very good!
5. 7 * 4 = 28 choices Ashton
have.
