Defensive Tactic
Because Manchester United has a lot of playmakers such as Bruno Fernandes,
and James Maddison, they will try to play quick incisive passes to penetrate the
shape of my team and try to make the striker run in behind the ball. Anthony
Martial is extremely good at runs, and this is why Joe Gomez will be man
marking him as Gomez has very good pace while tracking back. He recorded a
high speed of 34.29km/h which already proves that he is capable of nullifying
passes going through in behind to Anthony Martial. Kyle Walker has played
alongside Rashford for England, and he knows him very well, so Kyle Walker will
also be marking Marcus Rashford. I feel like Adama Traore will be using his
explosive speed and strength to try and dribble past saka to cross the ball
inside, and this is why I have played Felipe Anderson who is a left midfielder,
and will help out Saka defensively as his defensive contribution is also
extremely strong. So while defending, Felipe Anderson will stay back a little and
Sancho, Vardy and Greenwood will stay up when we recover the ball. Felipe
Anderson staying back enables Joe Gomez and Jonny Evans to stay in the box,
so those 2 will be able to hold off Anthony Martial and stop him from scoring.
This is backed up by Jonny Evans’ defensive statistics. This season alone, he
has kept 11 clean sheets in the Premier League along with making 171
clearances and 57 interceptions. He also has won 207 duels and has managed
230 ball recoveries. Paul Scholes is also a very good deep-lying playmaker, so
he can come into the box to help defensively. If we take into account his last
season, he made 27 tackles in 16 appearances, with a tackle success rate of
78% which is staggeringly high for a centre-midfielder who is regarded as a
playmaker.
Attack Tactic
I feel like Soyuncu will be playing because he knows Jamie Vardy and they know
each other, so while I am attacking, Greenwood will occupy Soyuncu in order to
free up Vardy who will act as a poacher while we are on the attack and also can
act to get in behind if we win the ball quickly in our own half. Jack Grealish is
also a very good playmaker, as he has managed to create 89 big chances this
season in the premier league, in a very poor Aston Villa side, which is only
bettered by Kevin De Bruyne. Grealish and Scholes have the vision to look for
my players, and Jadon Sancho can also create lots of plays for Vardy and
Greenwood in order to score. Felipe Anderson is a right footed Left midfielder
and he can quickly play incisive passes into my midfield, who can create very
good chances. Felipe Anderson is also very good at long balls because he has
played 42 accurate long balls this season. He can play these long balls from
deep while he is helping with his defensive contribution.
