a. What is the main idea of the text?


RTA How obtain a driver license.

b. What is the driving program's purpose when it demands to pass the written test and
the driving test?
RTA To show the knowledge of traffic signs, traffic regulations, basic mechanics, and first aids.

c. Considering the requirements to have a driver’s license in the USA, do you think we
could apply the same requirements in Colombia? Explain.
RTA Yes, because in Colombia knowledge of traffic signs, rules, first aid and basic mechanics is also
required.

States.

Step 2: Writing obligations and necessities.

My name is Fernando Ivan Falla, I am 42 years old and I live in


the city of Popayán in Colombia. I am a Systems Engineering
student at UNAD (Open and Distance University).
With my mother and niece we have had a small food business for
three months where we sell typical products such as empanadas,
aborrajados, potatoes, etc. It is very pleasant to serve in the
home business because serving and meeting different people
becomes very special.

At work, I must to get up early to go to the market. I must bring


enough money to do the shopping and I must be accompanied to
be able to bring the bags from the market.
When I return from the market I must to light the stove to
prepare the pipian for the empanadas and I must be to make
sure that the fire is adequate. I must to peel the potatoes and
make the chili, and I must be testing it so it doesn't get too
spicy. Then I must to prepare the empanadas and fry them while
I must be to make sure they don't burn. Then I must to arrange
the tables and the electric display case to place the products and
I must be aware that the display case is hot just as I must be
serving customers.

I really like this job as well as meeting people and it is important


for my professional future because I must be to meet many
people to strengthen my social relationships.
