USER GUIDE

INTRODUC TION

This booklet is a very brief introduction to Bluebeam. It is supposed to give you a flavour of what is
capable in the software rather than be a comprehensive and complete guide.
Section 3 covers the most important aspect of drawing in Bluebeam for the BuroHappold brand.
The sketch templates and the drawing review blocks are brand approved and should be used on
all sketches, drawings, and diagrams created in Bluebeam (even if you are marking up a previously
created document).
There is a Yammer group specifically for Bluebeam related queries. Just search groups for “Bluebeam”.
This is used for knowledge sharing as well as answering queries.
Also the Knowledge pages on Magellan have a dedicated Bluebeam page. Check here for links to
helpful “How to” documents, and Bluebeam extra downloads.

4.15 LEGEND CREATION

The Legend feature allows the creation of a key for a drawing. At a minimum, the Legend simply
shows a symbol that represents a markup on the page with a description, but can provide a high-level
summary with other columns like measurements and quantities.
As markups are added to or removed from the associated pages, quantities for matching markups in
the Legend are automatically updated.
There are two ways to generate a new Legend depending on what kind of markups they represent:

4.15.1 TOOL SE T LEGENDS

Includes any markups added to a document from a specific tool set in the Tool Chest and will
automatically include any markups on associated pages that is in the tool set. Unlike an ad-hoc
Legend, a tool set Legend can be added to a drawing before any markups have been placed.
To generate a tool set Legend:
1. Go to the Toolchest Tab
2. Click the Properties gear to the right of the desired tool set and go to Legend Create New
Legend.
3. Click anywhere on the drawing to place the Legend.
4. The default properties of the Legend, including the source pages, are used automatically. Adjust
any of these Legend Properties as desired.

4.15.2 AD-HOC LEGENDS

Ad-hoc Legends created from one or more existing markups on a drawing. Any additional markups of
the same type and with the same appearance properties that are added to an associated page will be
automatically added to the Legend.
To generate an ad-hoc Legend:
1. Select the markups you wish to include in the Legend.
2. Right-click any of the selected markups and go to Legend -> Create New Legend.
3. Click anywhere on the drawing to place the Legend.
4. The default properties of the Legend, including the source pages, are used automatically. Adjust
any of these Legend Properties as desired.

4.15.3 CHANGING A LEGEND’S APPEARENCE

The appearance of a Legend is configurable, including its title, what information it shows, as well as
text and line appearances.
To change the appearance of a Legend, select it and click the Properties tab.

4.16 THE MARKUPS LIST

The Markups list automatically tracks markups placed on a PDF, including author, date, colour, and
comments associated with each markup. By default it is found in the bottom panel.
The Markups list is formatted as a table with each row representing a markup that has been added to
the active PDF and each columns showing a particular piece of information about the markup. Columns
can be toggled on and off (using the Columns menu)
As a row is selected, the view of the PDF in the workspace will jump to the location of the associated
markup.

Note that it is also possible to re-allocate shortcuts to preferred keys so you can remap existing Revu
shortcuts to match similar functions in other programs you already use, or add new shortcuts to create
your own personal list of frequently used comands. New customizable shortcuts include batch tools,
sketch tools, cut content, erase content and lots more.

HOW TO CREATE CUSTOM KEYBOARD SHOR TCUTS

Select Revu on the Menu bar and click Keyboard Shortcuts. In the Keyboard Shortcuts window, select
the tool or command you want to shortcut, enter the keystroke in the Shortcut field, and click Add. To
use a shortcut already assigned to another tool, click Reassign.
All shortcuts listed in Revu’s menus system will automatically updated once a new shortcut has been
assigned, making them easier to find and remember.
