Risk Assessment Erection of Precast Concrete Elements

This risk assessment document outlines the hazards, risk ratings, and control measures for erecting precast concrete elements/panels at a construction site. The key hazards identified are lifting panels with over capacity equipment, uncontrolled panel falls, slippage of lifting/support equipment, and falls by erection personnel. Controls include adhering to safety procedures, using barricades and signs, clearing the erection area, limiting personnel in drop zones, not lifting in high winds/rain, providing edge protection, and using personal protective equipment like helmets and harnesses. Training, emergency procedures, and monitoring are also addressed to minimize risks and harms to erectors, riggers, laborers, and other site workers during the erection process.
