SYSTEM UNIT

A system unit is a box- like case. It contains the processing


devices and has a processor called the Central Processing Unit or
CPU- the brain of your computer.

PARTS OF THE SYSTEM UNIT:

CD- ROM
Drive
Power
button USB Ports

Reset
button

The parts of the system unit in the front view are the following:

CD- ROM Drive- is where you insert compact discs (CDs) or DVDs.

Universal Serial Bus (USB) Ports- are ports that allow USB devices to be
connected to each other with and transfer digital data over USB
cables. They can also supply electric power across the cable to
devices that need it.

Power button- is used to turn the computer on and off.

Reset button- is used to restart your computer.

Remember: The system unit of a computer contains all the important


components. Some important parts of the system unit are
Motherboard, Microprocessor, Primary Memory and Power Supply
Unit.
