CSS12 LAS Patch-Panel-Board 2022

The document provides instructions for connecting network devices in a patch panel board. It includes: 1) A diagram showing how a modem, router, access point, and two computers are connected to a patch panel board and ethernet switch. 2) An explanation that a patch panel board is used to easily connect and manage wired network cables. It has slots on the back to insert unshielded twisted pair wires according to the T568A or T568B wiring standard. 3) Two activities for students - the first involves drawing wiring connections in the patch panel board, and the second connects the network devices to the patch and ethernet switch ports in diagrams.

Name of Student: ___________________________________________________________________
Learning Area & Grade Level: CSS Grade 12 – COC2 – INSTALL COMPUTER NETWORK
Reference Module/Material: TESDA COC2 INSTALL COMPUTER NETWORK – CBLM, DEPED TVL-CSS Curr. Guide
Learning Competencies: LO3. Set Router/Wifi/Wireless Access Point/Repeater Configuration
3.5 Configure security/firewall/advanced settings in accordance with manufacturers
instruction and end-user preferences
I. LEARNING CONCEPTS:
We are already finished with the basic configuration of Router and Access Point. It is now time for us to connect them
with other network devices. The diagram below show network devices connected in a Patch Panel Board and Ethernet
switch.

advantage of using patch panels, also known as patch bays, is improved
organization and easier management of your wired network. The main
purpose of patch panel is on cable management. By using a front-access
patch panel, for instance, you can get to all your cables and terminations
easily.

Demonstrations:
 A video clip on how to connect UTP wires in the patch panel board can be downloaded in the school
Intranet: 10.20.30.25/mdlserver – TVL LM – CSS12 page
 Pictorial Diagram of network devices connected to patch panel board and Ethernet switch

II. LEARNING SKILLS:

1. Know how to connect UTP wires in the patch panel board slots following T658A/T658B wiring orientations.
2. Identify the connections of network devices in the patch panel board and Ethernet switch

ACTIVITY A. PATCH PANEL BOARD WIRING CONNECTION

Draw lines using your pen in the pictorial diagram below connecting an RJ45 plug to a channel slots in the patch
panel board. Please orient wiring connection following T568A wiring orientation and label the color of your line
following the example below. Please draw this pictorial diagram in your answer sheet.
