A. Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
1. Describe what they want to become in the future (guessing game)
2. Create sentences using future tense of verbs through the Hat of Knowledge

C. Motivation (Guessing Game) 10 minutes


o The students (randomly chosen) will be asked to describe what they want to
become in the future, then the rest of the class will have to guess.
Possible answers: teacher, doctor, lawyer, nurse, etc.

o The students will describe their future profession through using future tense of
verbs in sentences.
Possible answers:
 I will help those people who are in need of my medical expertise.
 I will teach children someday like my mother.

D. Main Activity (Hat of Knowledge Activity) 30 minutes


o The students will sing a song that they are all familiar with.
o They will pass the hat to the next person after wearing it.
o The teacher will raise the red flag which means stop.
o Whoever will hold or wear the hat will share what they will do after school.
Possible answers:
• I will answer all my assignments at home.
• After school, I will go to my cousin’s house.
• Probably, I will clean my room after school.
o The thorough discussion of the topic will then follow.
o The teacher will ask students about the answers of their classmates that will
serve as examples.

Read carefully the paragraph describing the proceedings of a training institute and
underline the verbs that are in future tense.

On Monday next, SATT will commence training its third batch of students for FST –
Finishing School for Teachers. The trainees will have an induction program and this
will be followed by welcoming the students. Welcome kits will be given away to each
of the trainee. On the first day, the session will begin at 9.30 am. The inaugural
function will start with a prayer song and other programs will follow. All the newly
selected candidates will be present at the session. Apart from the local faculty, our
support faculty from Bangalore will also be present.
