INGENIUM TALENT COMPETITION

The USC Week 2023 Ingenium is an avenue for Escolarians to showcase their skills and talents in front of
the whole community. This year, three (3) different talent competitions such as Solo Singing, Battle of
the Bands, and Dance will be held on April 22, 2023 (Saturday) during the closing day of the annual
celebration. The event will start at exactly 4:00 PM which will be immediately followed by a concert at
6:00 PM. Registration period for the competitions will be open on March 27, 2023 until April 10, 2023
only.

In line with this, the Centro Escolar University Student Council – Manila would like to share the
following mechanics and criteria for judging to be applied for the talent competition. Please be guided
accordingly.

A. Solo Singing Competition

Mechanics:

1. Participants should be bona fide students of Centro Escolar University – Manila for S.Y.
2022-2023.
2. Participants should be officially registered during the USC Week 2023 Ingenium and
shall purchase the P250 ticket which will also serve as their registration fee.
3. The deadline of registration is on April 10, 2023 (Monday) until 8:00 PM.
4. The theme to be performed should revolve around the theme: Multiverse wherein the
music should either portray the concept of time and space or be part of a soundtrack
from different films that apply the concept of the Multiverse (ex. Marvel, DC, Stranger
Things, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Star Trek, and etc.). The participants may
also apply the concepts in their performance.
5. All participants shall submit a video performance that is 1-2 minutes long on or before
April 12, 2023 (Wednesday) as part of the elimination process of the competition. The
google drive link will be accessed upon online registration.

Criteria for Judging:

Voice Quality 30%


Diction 10%
Intonation 20%
Adherence to the theme 20%
Stage Presence / Audience Communication 20%
Total 100%
B. Battle of the Bands

Mechanics:

1. Participants should be bona fide students of Centro Escolar University – Manila for S.Y.
2022-2023.
2. Participants should be officially registered during the USC Week 2023 Ingenium and

C. Dance Competition

Mechanics:

1. Participants should be bona fide students of Centro Escolar University – Manila for S.Y.

6. The group must be consist of a minimum of 15 members to a maximum of 20 members.
The line-up of members will be submitted upon online registration.
7. The duration of the performance must be a minimum of 2:30 minutes to a maximum of
3:00 minutes.

Performance (execution showmanship, 40%


precise space formations, timing and
coordination, expression)
Choreography (creativity, artistry, style and 30%
originality, concept)
