6.) Write an essay with at least five (5) sentences why you selected that specific set of guidelines to
evaluate the website? (15 points)

I picked these criteria because it helps me asses the website and for me it is the criteria that will help me
pick a good website using this assessment. I selected Structure for easy comparison since it helps me
describe how the structure of the website is easily compared with others. Then the optimize display
density showing how clear the pictures are in the website to help the user see the image clearly. Next is
avoid cluttered display because the details are important for the user because it helps the user understand
more about the website and can be easily remembered by the user if the display is not cluttered. After that
is aligning items in the page so that the set-up of the website is not messy and it shows clarity for the user
to easily use the website.
7.) Answer the following questions. Use at least five (5) sentences. (15 points each)

a. If you were going to develop an emergency mobile application, what HCI criteria and
category would you use as a guideline in the design and development of the application? Why?
- I would choose the visual design using the perfect pictures, space, layout, typography and color to
increase the visual appeal and enhance the serviceability of the product. Using these would help
the user know the vibe or energy given by the website like fast-food chains using bright colors in
order to create a positive vibe to make the customers or users feel welcomed. Creating this
application with beautiful colors will suit the customers taste and make them buy the product. I
will also use the alignment of items on the app to make it organized and help the user see the
icons easily. Guiding the user with organized display and color appropriate display is my goal if I
created an application.
b. If you were assigned to design and develop the interface of a learning management system for a
university, what HCI criteria and category would you use as a guideline in the design and development
of the application? Why?

Interface Style/ Modality, since in the context of human-computer interaction, an interface modality is the
classification of a single independent channel of sensory input/output between a computer and a person.
As opposed to being unimodal, a system is said to be multimodal if it uses more than one modality. In
addition, interface modality should be followed when developing an interface learning system, since my
main focus is on developing a system that enables user interaction or allows for input and output of data
into and from computers. Using these guidelines will help the user interact more with the computer and
guiding them in learning using the learning management system.

c. If you were developing the interactive interface of a video editing tool, what HCI criteria and
category would you use as a guideline in the design and development of the application?
Why?

- I would be using Visual display since it guides the user on how to interact with the video editing
tool like using dark colors and highlighting colors in the tools in video editing so the user can see it.
Using visual display helps show the websites capacity to store the variety of videos that are
commonly used by users like films, GIF and videos .
