1. Definitions.
License Agreement
1. Definitions.
The term “HyPAS Application” means the application software developed by
Licensee for KYOCERA Products. The term “KYOCERA” means KYOCERA
Document Solutions Inc., a corporation organized under the laws of Japan with
its principal place of business at 2-28, 1-Chome, Tamatsukuri, Chuo-ku Osaka
540-8585, Japan. The term “KYOCERA Product” means KYOCERA’s color or
monochrome digital multi-functional products / single-functional printer. The
term “Licensed Product” means the software program accompanying this License
Agreement and related documentation.
2. License Grant.
KYOCERA grants to Licensee a non-exclusive, non-transferable limited license to
duplicate, store, load, install, execute, display or otherwise use the Licensed
Products for the purpose of developing HyPAS Application for use with KYOCERA
Products and providing the same for Licensee’s customers. Licensee may
distribute and market, under its sole responsibility and its sole cost and expense,
the Licensed Product for the purpose of using in conjunction with HyPAS
Application only.
3. License Restrictions.
Licensee may not reverse engineer, disassemble or decompile all or a part of the
Licensed Products in object code forms. Except as otherwise set forth in this
Agreement, Licensee may not use, modify, create derivative works from,
distribute or copy the Licensed Products. Licensee may not delete or remove any
trademarks and/or any copyright and other intellectual proprietary right notices
described in the Licensed Products, provided that Licensee may add its own
trademarks and/or intellectual proprietary right notices to HyPAS Application
developed by Licensee based on the Licensed Products. Licensee may not
distribute the Licensed Product in source code forms to any third party.

forth in this License Agreement, the Licensee may not distribute, sell, transfer,
rent, lease, loan, sublicense or otherwise dispose of the Licensed Products in
whole or in part, to any third party.
5. Disclaimer of Warranty.
KYOCERA PROVIDES THE LICENSED PRODUCTS ON AN "AS IS" BASIS, WITHOUT
WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OR CONDITION OF
TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A
PARTICULAR PURPOSE. LICENSEE IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING
THE APPROPRIATENESS OF USING THE LICENSED PRODUCTS AND SHALL
ASSUME ANY RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE USE OF THE LICENSED PRODUCTS.
6. Limitation of Liability.
IN NO EVENT AND UNDER NO LEGAL THEORY, WHETHER IN TORT (INCLUDING
NEGLIGENCE), CONTRACT, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL KYOCERA BE LIABLE TO
LICENSEE FOR DAMAGE, INCLUDING ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, SPECIAL,
INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY CHARACTER ARISING AS
A RESULT OF THIS AGREEMENT OR OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE
LICENSED PRODUCTS (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR LOSS
OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, OR
ANY AND ALL OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES), EVEN IF KYOCERA
HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
7. Confidential Information.
Licensee may from time to time receive from KYOCERA, and its affiliated
companies, or obtain from their website, technical or business information that
is not available to the general public and is considered proprietary or confidential.
Licensee shall hold all such confidential information in strict confidence and shall
not disclose the same to any other person, firm or corporation. The foregoing
obligations shall not extend to information that is or becomes public through no
fault of the Licensee.
9. Export Control
Licensee may not use, export or re-export the Licensed Products or any copy or
adaptation in violation of any applicable laws or regulations. Specifically,
Licensee may not export or re-export the Licensed Products to any country to
which the United States embargoes its goods; and Licensee may not distribute
the Licensed Products to any person on the Table of Denial Orders, the Entity
List, or the List of Specially Designated Nationals.
10. Miscellaneous
This Agreement shall constitute the entire agreement between the parties
relating to the Licensed Products and supersedes all prior agreements, written
or verbal. No modification or waiver of any term of this Agreement shall be
effective unless set forth in writing and signed by an authorized representative
of each party. No failure to enforce any provision of this Agreement shall be
construed as a waiver. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in
accordance with the laws of Japan. If a court of competent jurisdiction holds any
provision of this Agreement invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions
will remain in full force and effect.

2 Introduction
3.1 Audience
This document is intended for users of MultiCrop Scan HyPAS application.
3.3 Terminologies
This manual contains the following terms.
Term Description
MFP MFP stands for Multi-Function Peripheral. Multi-
function peripherals make office work more
efficient by combining copy, fax, printing, and
scanning capabilities in a single office machine.
HyPAS Generic name of solution technology of KYOCERA
Document Solutions Inc.
SMB Stands for Server Message Block, which refers to
the protocol (SMB protocol), a client-server
communication protocol used for sharing access
to files, printers, serial ports and other resources
on a network.
FTP Stands for File Transfer Protocol, which is a
standard network protocol used for the transfer
of computer files between a client and server on
a computer network.
USB Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a common interface
that enables communication between devices
and a host controller.
3.1 Introduction
MultiCrop Scan is an application that supports multi-cropping function which allows
detection of multiple originals as a single scanned data per original, processed to be
sent in a network folder or email, or stored in a USB drive.
3.3 Send
On the Send screen, since no destinations are initially set, [ Scan & Send ] is disabled
(Fig. 3.3). Destination/s must be added to enable the button.
On this screen, address entries retrieved from the device’s address book are listed.
Supported destination types are as follows: SMB, FTP, Email.
1. Select a destination by tapping the address entry. The row will be highlighted to
indicate that destination has been selected (Fig. 3.3.1a).
2. For easier navigation, you may filter the destinations according to its type by
tapping on the tab buttons below the table of address entries. The number beside
the filter indicates the total number of address entries available for that particular
destination type.
3. Once you have finally settled with selecting your preferred destination/s, press
[ Back ] to continue.
On this screen, you may manually add a destination by filling out the necessary fields
for the supported destination types. Supported destination types are as follows: SMB,
FTP, Email. (Note: Destinations added using Manual Entry are only temporary and are
not saved on the device’s address book)
1. Select a destination type using the tab buttons: [ SMB ], [ FTP ], or [ Email ].
Default tab set is SMB.

2. Fill out the necessary details for the destination. Refer to section 3.3.6 Destination
Form Validation for the field validation and restrictions for each destination type.
Listed on the Send screen are selected destinations from the Address Book or
manually added destinations from Manual Entry. Only manually added destinations
using Manual Entry can be modified. Destinations selected from the Address Book
can only be viewed for confirmation and cannot be modified.
1. On the list, tap the manually added destination. This will redirect you to the Edit
destination screen.
2. Edit the necessary details for the destination. Refer to section 3.3.6 Destination
Form Validation for the field validation and restrictions for each destination type.
1. On the list, tap the destination selected from the Address Book. This will redirect
you to the View destination details screen.
2. Once you have confirmed the destination details, press [ Back ] to continue.
Listed on the Send screen are selected destinations from the Address Book or
manually added destinations from Manual Entry.
Once destinations have been finalized, you may now proceed to [ Scan & Send ]. For
more information, refer to section 3.5 Scanning and Saving/Sending.
Store to USB Drive will only be accessible if a USB drive has been properly inserted
to the device. On this screen, only folders will be listed for setting of target destination
folder.
By default, the root folder of the USB drive is set as the destination folder. You can
navigate between folders and sub-folders (Note: Navigation can be done only up until
the 3rd sub-level from the root folder). Navigating through a folder will set the folder
as the destination folder. You may select a folder in the current directory to be set as
the destination folder.
1. Tap a folder to set it as the destination folder for storing scanned documents.
Having selected a folder, [ Open ] button will be enabled.

2. Tap the selected folder again to unset it as the destination folder. Current active
directory will be considered as the destination folder for storing scanned
documents.
Once the destination folder has been finalized, you may now proceed to [ Scan &
Save ]. For more information, refer to section 3.5 Scanning and Saving/Sending.
Since the main functionality of the application is multi-cropping, the function setting
will always be set to On (Note: This setting is not modifiable and is hidden from user
view).
3. To select a preferred function setting, tap on the function options you want to
set, some function options may have prohibitions and may automatically be
adjusted. For more information, refer to section 3.6 Scan Settings.
4. Once scan settings have been finalized, press [ Start Scanning ] or the Start
hardware key to initiate the process.
5. Status messages will be displayed in a dialog box to indicate current job status.
8. Once save/send job is completed, a status dialog box is displayed to show the
job status result.
9. After confirming the job status result, press [ Close ] to continue. You will be
redirected back to the Home screen.
The following are the supported functions and options of the application:
