Secretary may I know who are the  “No one Ma’am”
absent today?

d.) Classroom Rules

“Before we proceed to our new
lesson for today, I want you to
know our online classroom
rules that we need to consider
in our zoom meeting”

 First things first:

1. Be on time
2. Find a quiet place in
attending the class
3. Mute and unmute your mic
if needed.
4. Raise your hand if you
want to answer or to ask
questions
5. Be respectful of others’
ideas; respect one another.
 “Loud and clear Ma’am!"
 “Did I make myself clear?”

e.) Review
“Alright class, last meeting
you were introduced to the parts of the
human digestive system and how each
part functions as well as the process on
how the digestive system breaks down
food to nourish your whole body. You
also learned that the human body is
composed of several organ systems,
which work together to keep us alive. In
this module, you will learn the parts and
functions of the respiratory and
circulatory systems.”

f.) What I Know.

“Let’s find out how much you
already know about this module.
Take note of the items that you
were not able to correctly answer
and look for the right answers as
you go through this module.”
 “A. The body’s breathing
 “What is respiratory system? system”
A. The body’s breathing system

b. The body’s system of nerves

c. The body’s food-processing
system
d. The body’s blood-transporting
system”

 “That is correct”
 “You can answer the rest of the
test items at your genyo account
or in the module”

 “Before we move on to our new

topic, I want you to take note of the
word in this slide”  Student 1: “how does the
oxygen in the air that we
 “Place your hand on your chest, breath in pass from our
take a deep breath, then let it out” lungs into our blood?”
 Student 2: “how does
blood move around our
bodies and get to each
cell to deliver oxygen?”
 Student 3: “how are the
circulatory and
respiratory system
linked?”
 Student 4: “we know that
carbon dioxide is
produced as waste
product in cellular
respiration, so how is it
removed from our
bodies?”

 “Okay, okay class. Settle down.

Let us answer your questions one
by one through the activities I just
prepared”

 “Look at this picture. Look at the

first picture, do you have any idea
about this organ system?”  Yes ma’am, this is the
respiratory system.

 Very good class. Yes, this is the

respiratory system.

 How about the second picture?

This are the two systems that we  This is our circulatory
are going to study today.” system.

 “Let us start first in the respiratory

system. Respiratory system is the
human breathing system. This
organ system is responsible for
taking in oxygen and expelling
carbon dioxide. The reason that
we can breathe is because of the
respiratory system.

 Now let us have the parts of the

respiratory system. The first one,
nose and mouth. These are the
entrance of oxygen in our body.
Oxygen enters our body through
our nose and mouth. Nasal
activity or nasal passageway.
After the oxygen enters our nose
and mouth, it will pass on the
nasal activity, making the air
warm, damp, and clean for the
unknown objects. Next, is
pharynx is our throat and larynx
is our voice box. Trachea is also
known as the windpipe. It is an
empty tube that serves as
passageway of air into the lungs.
Lungs is the main organ of the
respiratory system. Humans have
a pair of lungs, the left and right
lung. Bronchi, the two branching
tubes that connects the trachea to
the lungs. Bronchioles are the
hairlike tube that connect to the
alveoli. Alveoli is where the gas
exchange happens. Those are the
part of the respiratory system. “Yes, Ma’am”
 “Did you clearly understand the
part of the respiratory system?”

 “The question is, what happens

when we breath in and breath
out? Everybody can you please
inhale and exhale. What do you
think happens to our respiratory
system? Let’s find out.”

 When we inhale, oxygen enters

our body. When we exhale carbon
dioxides exits our body. When we
inhale ribs move out and chest
space increase or chest space
becomes larger. When we exhale
ribs move in and chest space
decreases or chest space
become smaller. Next, diaphragm
is the muscle in the respiratory
system which helps us to breath.
When we inhale, diaphragm
muscle contracts or our
diaphragm moves down. When
we exhale diaphragm muscle
relaxes or our diaphragm moves
up. So that is what happens when
we inhale and exhale.

 Now let us proceed to the

circulatory system. Circulatory
system is also known as the
cardiovascular system. This
system is the life support structure
that nourishes your cells. It
functions with other body system
to deliver different materials to the
body.

 Now let us proceed to a major

part of the circulatory system. The
first one is the heart. Heart pumps
the blood throughout the body
and this is the main organ in the
circulatory system. Blood vessel
carries the blood through the
blood. And we have three types of
blood vessel. The first one,
arteries carry blood away from the
heart, while veins carry blood
towards the heart, the third type of
blood vessel is capillaries, this are
the smallest blood vessel in the  “Yes ma’am. The answer,
body connecting smallest arteries the heart is a hollow
to smallest veins. Blood carries muscle which is as big as
the materials throughout the body. your fist.”
So those are the major parts of
the circulatory system.

 Now that we know the major parts

of the respiratory and circulatory
system. Do you know how big
your heart is?

 “Good Job class, I am glad that

you know that idea”

 “Now let us take quick look on the

major parts of the heart. The two
atria are the receiving chambers
of the heart, accepting blood from
the body and the lungs. While the
two ventricles are the pumping
chambers of the heart, moving
blood to the lungs and the body.
There is a blood between each
atrium and ventricle to prevent the
blood from flowing forward. The
valve is like one-way doors that
keep the blood from moving in
only one direction.”

 “Now let’s discover how they are

really are connected to each
other”
 “Air first enters your lungs and
then into the left part of your
heart. It is then driven by your
heart into the bloodstream, all the
way through your body. The heart
pumps blood, soon which
transports essential nutrients,
oxygen and other can be caused
to every cell in your body. Once it
reaches cells, oxygen processes
the nutrients to release energy.
Carbon dioxide is given out during
“No Ma’am”
the process. The blood is first
carbon dioxide into the right
portion of the heart, from which is
pump in the lungs. Carbon dioxide “Yes Ma’am”
leaves your body through the
lungs when you exhale.”

 “Class, are there any questions

about the parts of respiratory and
circulatory systems?”

 “Before we continue our class

discussion, I have here again
trivia that will tickle your mind. Are
you ready grade 9 students?”

 “Okay class, lets gets started”

 “Did you know that, instead of

nostrils, insects breathe through
openings in the thorax and
abdomen called spiracles.
Oxygen and carbon dioxide gases
are exchanged through a network
of tubes called tracheae.”

 “Another trivia is, fish take water

into their mouth, passing the gills
just behind its head on each side.
Dissolved oxygen is absorbed
from—and carbon dioxide
released to—the water, which is
then dispelled. The gills are fairly
large, with thousands of small
blood vessels, which maximizes
the amount of oxygen extracted.”

 “Do you have any idea of the

diseases or disorders related to
the circulatory and respiratory
system?”

 “Your body cannot survive without

the help of circulatory and
respiratory systems. However,
there are many ways by which the
functioning of these body systems
can be affected. Learn about the
bad habits that can do harm to
these body systems.”

 “Cigarette smoking harms nearly

every organ in the body causing
many illnesses and affecting
health in general. The negative
effects of smoking on circulatory
system include increased heart
rate and blood pressure, corona
heart disease, arteriosclerosis,
and vascular diseases.”

 “The leading cause of death

around the world are diseases
affecting the respiratory and
circulatory systems. However,
they can be prevented simply by
having a lifestyle that promotes
wellness. Circulatory and
respiratory diseases begin to
develop with unhealthy living.
Symptoms of these illness must
not be neglected and appropriate
cure must be given immediately.”

 “The best way to prevent

diseases in the respiratory and
circulatory system is to have a
healthy lifestyle, which includes
balanced diet, regular exercise,
adequate rest, proper hygiene
and avoiding vices such as
cigarette smoking and alcohol
drinking. Circulatory and
respiratory disease can easily be
detected with regular health
checkup and physical screening.”

 “Okay class, do you have any

question about our discussion?”

B. Developmental Activities  “The answer Ma’am is

Alveoli; it is where the

understand the discussion let us
answer this activity.”

Mix and Match

 “For our what’s more activity 1,
unscramble the letters of each
word in the second column to
revel the word. Then, match the
second column to the third
column that explains the definition
and functions of the different parts
of respiratory system.”
 “Now, for number one item, what
is this scramble word? Give its
meaning”

 “Great job. Now you can proceed  “The answer is asthma

in answering the rest of the items” Ma’am.”

 “For our second activity, all  “No Ma’am.”

indicate negative effects on the
respiratory and circulatory
system. Identify the different
illnesses that are brought about
by the negative lifestyles. Write
your answers in the box
