Modalities of the Working Groups to be established during FAL 47

The modalities of the working groups planned at FAL 47 are outlined below. Delegations are
advised that not all groups will be working under hybrid arrangements, however they will be able
to join remotely while meeting rooms are allocated at the IMO Headquarters for physical
participants. Further details can be found in the annex.

Working Group on Facilitation Instruments (WG 1) and Working Group on Electronic Business
(WG 3) will be conducted in person and will be supplemented by hybrid functionality for delegates
who need to join remotely. Physical participants of these Groups do not require any device to join
the meeting and contribute, as is the case for plenary meeting in the Main Hall.

Working Group on FAL MASS (WG 2) will be conducted in remote mode only. A meeting room
will be allocated at IMO headquarters for those delegates who wish to participate in WG 2
remotely from the IMO Headquarters. Physical participants need an appropriate device to join the
meeting and contribute from the allocated meeting rooms.

Registrations to the Groups

Delegates who wish to participate in any working/drafting/experts group must, in the first place,
be registered on IMO's Online Meeting Registration System (OMRS). Subsequently, they can
register for the respective group(s) through an online form available at the following link:
https://forms.office.com/e/z0RTiRFHtT.

Registration through the above link is essential for ALL participants planning to join the
working/drafting groups, as it will enable the provision of the list of participating delegations in
each group.

After submitting the above-mentioned online form, delegates will receive joining instructions and
important information with respect to the group(s) they selected to their registered email address.
In case no joining instructions have been received, it is likely that the email address has not been
typed correctly. In this case, delegates are advised to re-register. For any issues with group
registrations, the Secretariat should be contacted at [email protected] for assistance.

For the hybrid arrangements to operate, individual and personalized joining links for WG 1 and
WG 3 will be sent every morning of the meeting week before the sessions start. For the other
group (WG 2) a single joining link will be sent upon registration through the above-mentioned
form. Therefore, such links should not be shared with other participants, as it would breach the
privacy of the meetings and may cause technical issues.

Important note (only applies to WG 1 and WG 3):

For participation in WG 1 and/or WG 3, those delegates who wish to join remotely should make
sure that their participation status in OMRS is set on "remote-active" during the week of
FAL 47, in order to receive respective joining instructions on a daily basis. If their status is
"in-person" or "remote-passive", they will not be able to join any of these WGs through remote
session, nor will they receive personalized Zoom links.
