MY JOURNAL

On the first day of In-Service Training for Teachers, I woke up early in the
morning with full of excitement because this is the first time I well attend In-
Service Training for teachers. We started the day with a mass in the presence
of Rv. Fr. Julius A. Alimeos, MCCC. After that, the two learning areas which is
Math and English was discussed by the coordinators and reported about
RUNT and CRLA. Mrs. Losa Andoloy T-III, reported about the result of
diagnostic test. We ended the morning session with a very informative and
useful one.
We started the afternoon session at exactly 1:00 PM, with the very energetic
and productive speaker Dr. Roger Z. Rochar, Education Program Supervisor,
Office in Charge, Office of Schools Division Superintendent, Division of Iloilo.
He talks about the Value Formation among Teachers and he discussed about
the 7 habits that could change our perspective in life. The 7 habits are; Be
Productive, Begin with the end in mind, Put first things first, Think win-win,
Seek first to understand and to be understood, Synergies, Sharpen the saw.
Dr. Roger Z. Rochar is indeed a great person and has a fructuous mind, he is
a great speaker and a great mentor to every teacher.

As a teacher we need to take responsibility to make sure that the learner’s curiosity is
being nourished. My insights from Ma’am Kristine Ann G. Gumapas Demo Teaching,
she delivered her lesson engaging and effective.

2. If you were a teacher of this subject with the same objectives of the lesson, would you
like to modify some approaches/strategies used? Why?,

No, because she used different strategies that is very useful and suited for every
learners.

3. Your suggestions to help enhance the lesson.

 Use bigger pictures


 Share learning about the places in the community with a sentence strip
 Use more hands-on activities

MY JOURNAL

2ND day In-service Training for Teachers, we started 7:30 in the morning
with a prayer and we had first the Management of Learning which the
teachers from Bugang Elementary School was assigned for a food for thought.
We were inspired by the video which is played in the title of Nang Dahil kay
Ma’am, wherein one teacher changes the life of a student.
Sir Romel C. Calcena Teacher II, Leon Central Elementary School SPA
Adviser, Division/Regional Facilitator discussed his topic about Curriculum
Contextualization. He teaches us on how to improve and contextualize our
Daily Lesson Plan. He gave us group activities in different subject learning
areas which we were going to make a contextualize DLP in that learning area.
In my group I was assigned to be one of the illustrators, as we are discussing
about the DLP that we are making I have so many realizations that there are
things I need to know about.
In the afternoon session we started at exactly 1:00 PM with Mr. Rene A.
Alingasa, Principal 1 of Coline Elementary School. He discussed about the
overview of the Quality Assurance Process, followed ny Mrs. Maricel G.
Blando, Principal 1 of Mambawi Elementary School, discussed about the
Quality Assurance of Social Content, and then Mr. Cyrus A. Landa, Head
Teacher 1 of Atabay Elementary school discussed about the Quality Assurance
of Layout and lastly Mrs. Mary Wynzel A. Allanic, T-III and Mrs. Neljane A.
Noble T-III discussed about Quality Assurance of Language.

On the 3rd day of In-Service Training we started it with a Management of


Learning facilitate by ESP and MTB-MLE group. The next topic was discussed
by Sir Joebert A. To-os, AO-II about the administrative concerns and answer
all the questions of the teachers about the topic. After that, we proceed to our
designated classroom to observe a demonstration teaching. In our group
which is the Kindergarten Mrs. Kristine Ann G. Gumapas was assigned to
demonstrate. The topic is about “Mga lugar sa Komunidad” with an objective
“Makilala ang nagakalainlain nga lugar sa komunidad. In her demonstration
she used pictures and as her instructional materials and she also played
videos. We ended the class with sharing our thoughts or insights about the
demonstration. I actually thought that the in-class sessions were more
thought-provoking and eye-opening because of the fruitful discussions being
made.
In the afternoon session we started at exactly 1:00 PM. Our speaker is
Mr. Rene A. Alingasa, Principal 1. He discussed about Dynamic Leaning
Program.

4rth day of In-Service Training was School-based. We started our day by


singing of Philippine National Anthem followed by a prayer and Alimodian
Hym. After that Mr. Regie P. Hisugan, T III, Teacher In Charge discussed
about the content of RPMS. He discussed the 5 KRA’s in it, wherein KRA 1 is
Content Knowledge and Pedagogy. There are 3 objectives in KRA 1 and these 3
objectives has its mode of verification. KRA 2 is Diversity of Learners and
Assessment and Reporting. Under this are objectives 4 – 6. He also discussed
its mode of verification. KRA 3 was Curriculum and Planning, under this were
objectives 7 and 8. KRA 4 was Community Linkages and Professional
Engagement and Professional Growth and Professional Development, under
this were objectives 10 and 11. KRA 5 was Plus Factor with objective 12. We
were enlightened of what to do because sir Regie discussed briefly of what are
the things we need to be accomplished. We ended the session at 11:30 in the
morning. We were instructed to return exactly 1 o’clock in the afternoon to
make our contextualized DLP as assigned.

MY JOURNAL

We started our fifth day INSET at 7:30 in the morning. Our topic is about Financial
Literacy. Our speaker was Sir Regie P. Hisugan Teacher In Charge. He discussed that
financial literacy was the ability to understand and effectively used various financial skills,
including personal financial management, budgeting and investing. It is a foundation of our
relationship with money. Financial literacy can prevent devastating mistakes, prepares
people for emergencies, can help individual reach their goals and invokes confidence. The
bottom line is Financial Literacy is the knowledge of how to make smart decisions with
money. This includes preparing of budget, knowing how much to save, deciding favorable
loan terms, understanding impacts to credit, and distinguishing different vehicles used for
retirement. These skills help individuals make smarter decisions and act more responsibly
with their personal finances. We ended our activity at 11:30 in the morning.

In the afternoon we helped sir Regie in making our SIP.
