A. Formwork

1. Fabrication:
Erect formwork in accordance with reviewed shop drawings.

2. Deflection and Camber


a. Make allowance for any deflection of formwork that is likely to occur during
construction, so that the hardened concrete conforms to the specified lines
and levels.
b. In the absence of any specified camber, the soffit of all beams more than five
(5) meters in span shall be laid to a camber where:
CAMBER = (SPAN)2

3. Removal of Forms
Forms and shoring in the formwork used to support the weight of concrete in
beams, slabs and other structural members shall remain in place until the concrete
has reached a minimum of 70% of the specified 28 day strength. Unless specified
otherwise, the following minimum periods shall apply to the removal of formwork.
Removal of Form work from Cold Normal

4. Re-shoring:
While re-shoring is under way, no live load shall be permitted on the new
construction.

5. Stripping of Formwork:
1 General

The Engineer shall be notified in writing before the removal of any formwork.
