ANIMAL TESTING IS NOT JUSTIFIED BECAUSE:

It’s Violated their Rights

 Animal testing is not justified because it violated their rights. According to Tom
Regan, a philosophy professor at North Carolina State University, he states that
“Animals have a basic moral right to respectful treatment, this inherent value is
not respected when animals are reduced to being mere tool in a scientific
experiment” additionally that people always said that humans and animals
have so many similarities in many ways like they both feel, think, behave, and
experience pain. Thus, animals should be treated with the same respect as
humans.

has notes that 95 percent of all drugs that are shown to be safe and effective in
animal test fail in human trials because they don’t work or dangerous. The
small percentage of drugs approved for human use; half end up being relabeled
because of side effects that were not identified in test on animals.

It's Wasteful

 Animal testing is not justified because it prolongs the suffering of humans


waiting for effective cures because the results mislead experimenters and
squander precious money, time, and other resources that could be spent on
human-relevant research. Animal experiments are wasteful that half of them is
never even published. According to the study of Dr. Richard Klauser, A former
director of the National Cancer Institute, “The history of cancer research has
been a history of curing cancer in the mouse. We have cured mice of cancer for
decades and it simply did not work in humans.”
POSSIBLE QUESTIONS THAT THEY CAN ASK:

How will we find cures without using Animals?

 There are alternatives that we can use to find cures without using Animals
Testing and these are the non-animal methods that are often cheaper, quicker,
and more effective. One of these is the Cell Cultures, it is a 3D structures of
miniature human organs, which can provide a more realistic way to test new
therapies. A little device called “organs-on-chips” that can be used instead of
animals to find cures and this device have already been produced that
accurately mimic the lung, heart, kidney, and gut. Cell cultures have been
central to key development in areas such as cancers, sepsis, and kidney disease
that are routinely used in chemical testing, vaccine production and drug
development.

Isn’t it hypocritical of people who say that they are opposed to animal experiments to
take drugs which have been tested on animals?

 Not at all. Those opposed to animal testing would rather choose drugs which
have not been tested on animals, just as they choose to buy non-animal tested
cosmetics. But because of pharmaceutical products are tested on animals, we
have no choice if we wish to use them.

Would your rather let your child, friend, or family members die than support animal
testing?

 Such artificial moral dilemmas are often quoted to blackmail people emotionally
into accepting animal experiments. In fact, the real choice is not between dogs
and child, friend, or family. It is between good and bad science. Animals’
experiments are bad science because they only tell us about animals and not
about people.

How can I believe such information from Animal testing is not justify – you might
exaggerate to suit your own purposes?

 Don’t take our word for it. There are many organizations of doctors and
scientists opposed to the animal testing in medical research because of the
harm it does to human. In addition to those, numerous veterinary surgeons are
opposed to animal testing. One example id Dr. Ray Greek, who has challenged
the value of animal experiments from a strictly scientific perspective.

Do those opposed to animal testing/experiments care more about animals than


people?

 Most people who oppose animal experiments do so because of a compassionate


desire to end all suffering, whether in animals or human beings. Such people
are very often supporters of a wide range of charities and good causes aimed at
helping disadvantaged people as well as animals. However, it is perfectly logical
to oppose animal experiments from a human health perspective, even if you
don’t care about animals at all.
