COMPOSITE TECH
This installation and operation manual (hereinafter referred to as IME) of the fiberglass mesh
production line (hereinafter referred to as LPSS) is intended to familiarize personnel with the
technical data, device, installation and operation of the LPSS complex.
Before installation and operation of the LPSS, it is necessary to study this IME and, in the
process of work, comply with the requirements set forth in it.
Installation and operation of the LPSS should be carried out by persons with relevant
knowledge and experience in the field of electrical installations.
1.1.LPSS is designed for the production of fiberglass mesh up to 2 meters wide from
a rod up to 6 mm thick with a customizable mesh size multiple of 5 cm.
The roving heater consists of a frame with sheathing pos. 1, heating elements pos. 2, control
panels pos. 3, perforated bracket pos. 4 serving for uniform distribution of roving threads, pressure
eccentric shaft pos. 5, automatic switch pos. 6 and covers pos.7.
6
1.2.4 Weaving module
The weaving module operates in two modes, thread winding mode and weaving mode,
designed for:
- winding a periodic profile (rib) with an exact winding step for each size of reinforcement. The
angle and exact coefficient of winding force of the profile provides the rod with a strictly cylindrical
shape and the removal of air from the impregnated reinforcement rod.
- interweaving of bars into a mesh by twisting.
The weaving module consists of a frame with sheathing pos. 1, twist knot pos. 2, the electric
motor of the bar twisting unit pos. 3, winder thread on the bar pos. 4, cross bar feed unit pos. 5, the
electric motor of the cross bar feed unit pos. 6, guillotine pos. 7, guillotine pneumatic cylinder pos. 8,
clamp pos. 9, cross bar guides pos. 10, and the pressure pneumatic cylinder pos. 8.
1.2.5 Oven
7
The oven is designed for polymerization of the resin, in which the cycle of curing and formation
of the finished fiberglass mesh takes place.
The furnace consists of a frame with sheathing pos. 1, heaters pos. 2, control panels pos. 3,
covers pos. 4, springs pos. 5 and automatic switch pos. 6.
8
1.2.8 Coachman
The coiler is designed for laying fiberglass rods into the bay.
The bayer consists of a frame pos. 1, wheels pos. 2, clutch pos. 3, electric motor pos. 4, coil pos. 5
and stops pos. 6.
1.2.9 Winder
The winder is designed for laying the mesh in a roll.
The winder consists of a frame pos. 1, electric motor pos. 2, clutch pos. 3, coil pos. 4 and
ramrod pos. 6.

2 Installation and configuration of LPSS.
1. Operation of LPSS.
Safety instructions.
Persons admitted to the operation of the LPSS are required to:
- read this IME;
- undergo safety training during the operation of electrical installations and fire safety in accordance
with the instructions for labor protection;
- know and comply with the norms of PTE and PTB.
Exhaust ventilation must be provided during LPSS operation.
LPSS launch
3.2.1 Bar making mode.
Select the bar making mode on the control panel.
10
Fill the bath of the cooling module with water.
Install the roving spools on the creel shelves.
Remove the cover of the roving heater, raise the clamp and squeegee, remove the pressing bars of the
impregnation module.
Pull the required number of roving threads through the guide rings of the creel and the perforated
bracket of the roving heater, distributing the threads evenly over the area of the bracket, avoiding thread
crossing. Pull the stretched roving threads further through the clamp and squeegee, group the threads to
form a rope and pull it through the thread winder of the weaving module, through the twister of the
weaving module, furnace, cooling module, pass it between the pulling and pressing shaft of the pulling
device, pull it through the cutting module of the pulling device.
Press the “LINE START” button on the control panel, and the “POWER” indicators on the LPSS
components will light up. Tighten the clamping nuts of the haul-off device.
Switch the toggle switches of the furnace control panels to the on position, while the toggle switches
will light up and the thermostats will turn on, the process of heating the furnaces will start. When
starting the LPSS for the first time, set the temperature of the furnaces in accordance with the
recommendations of the technological process (see Appendix B).
Put the spools of thread on the thread winder pins. Turn the coils by hand, checking the tightening
torque of the coil. The coils should turn smoothly without jamming. Wind the beginning of the thread
from the spools, thread it through the eye and tie it to the stretched threads of the roving.
Prepare impregnating resin in accordance with the recommendations of the technological process (see
appendix B, table 2). Pour it into the bath of the impregnation module and turn the control panel toggle
switch to the on position, while the toggle switch will light up and the thermostat will turn on. When
starting the LPSS for the first time, set the bath temperature of the impregnation module in accordance
with the recommendations of the technological process (see Appendix B).
When the furnace temperature reaches 90-95% of the set temperature, press the "START" button on the
control panel of the roving heater, the heating process will start. Replace the roving heater cover
Lower the clamp, pressing the roving strands to the bottom of the resin bath and secure it with screws.
Switch the control panel switch of the puller to the left position, this will begin drawing the roving
strands through the resin. As you draw, when the impregnated threads pass through the squeegee shaft,
switch the toggle switch on the control panel of the impregnation module in the pressure mode, while
the squeegee will lower and press the threads against the shaft, thereby removing excess resin and
ensuring uniform impregnation of the threads. Switch the switch on the control panel of the hauler to the
right position, this will start feeding and simultaneously winding the rib.
Move the toggle switch on the control panel of the cooling module to the on position, while the toggle
switch will light up and the fans and water circulation pump will turn on.
When reaching and passing the finished reinforcement through the cutting device, cut off pieces of bars
with unimpregnated roving threads. Simultaneously with cutting the first section of the reinforcement,
press the "RESET" button on the counter on the control panel of the pulling device, which will reset the
counter and start measuring good products.
Direct the cut edges of the bars and rest it against the stop of the coiler coil.
When finished, press the LINE STOP button. At the end of the work shift, clean the installation from
possible resin smudges. Keep the LPSS clean and tidy.
11
Repeat the above steps to run LPSS in bar making mode with the exception of:
- On the control panel, select the mesh production mode.
- Bring the coiler with the manufactured bars to the cross bar feed unit of the weaving module and insert
the edge of the bar through the eye between the rollers of the cross bar feed unit of the weaving module.
- When the manufactured mesh leaves the pulling device, fix its edge on the winder by fixing it with a
ramrod.
In the event of an emergency, IMMEDIATELY press the Emergency Stop button. After eliminating the
cause of the abnormal situation, to continue working, press the "LINE START" button on the control panel of
the cooling module.
