Set_volt [tie Switch Teptonal | aCHAPTER2 NOTES ON SAFETY 2-1 FUNDAMENTALS OF SAFE OPERATION Important:before work, read thoroughly and understand well the notes on safety in this chapter. Those operators who are engaged, directly or indirectly, in the installation, operation, or maintenance work of the chip conveyor shall read thoroughly and understand well the notes on safety in this chapter to such work. The company shall not be responsible for any personnel injury or any damage of machine or properties owing to nonconformity to the above procedures and the notes on safety specified in this document. 2.2 DANGER LEVELS RELATING TO NOTES ON SAFETY] Each of the notes on safety is displayed with 3 levels of hazard of personnel injury, damage of machine or properties possible in the case of nonconformity to the notes on safety. Refer to the introduction section. Sufficient attention shall be paid to the notes on safety so as not to cause any personnel injury, damage of machine or properties. (a)2-3 HAZARD CONTENTS INDICATION PLATES ‘The conveyor has plates indicating hazard contents at each portion for user's safety operation. Each of these hazard contents indication plate indicates possible hazard in the case of nonconformity to its instructions. Pay sufficient attention to the contents of the plates. FIG.2-1 Locations of hazard contents indication plates 3 (Z\ WARNING | & once oF ee cu ya seg Tu ee PP nr em eo eS ‘This indication plate is also attached to optional control box if it is attached. Do not remove any of the hazard contents indication plate without permission of our company. If these plates become dirty or damaged and difficult to read, get appropriate plates immediately and attach them to their respective locations. ( Spare indication plates are to be paid for.) And do not use the machine with its indication plates difficult to see.CHAPTERS OPERATION 3-1-1 FUNDAMENTAL ITEMS Z\DANGER + Do not come near or contact any moving portion of the conveyor. Do not enter the moving area of the conveyor during operation ZX WARNING + Do not contact the control panel or motor except for the maintenance work by qualified person in charge of electric construction, + Do not touch the switch or button with wet hand, + Tum off the conveyor before inspection or repair work of the machine, «Sweep the oil, water, and dust on the floor in order for operator not to slip or fall down, “Secure a sufficiently wide foothold. ZX CAUTION + At power failure, be sure to turn off the primary power source, + Avoid external strong impact on the control panel and the like. Do not paint, modify, remove, or make dirty the indication plates attached to the conveyorIf the indication plates become dirty or damaged and difficult to read, get appropriate plates immediately and attach them to their respective locations, BEFORE TURNING ZX\DANGER + Damaged coating of cable, electric wire and the like may cause electric leakage or electric shock. Make sure that they are all right and safe before turning on the power source. Z\ WARNING «Read the operation manual ( the present document ) thoroughly and understand well the functions and operating procedures prior to operation, ZX CAUTION «Make sure that switches work smoothly. (6)3-1-3 INSPECTION BEFORE OPERATION ZX WARNING «Make sure that there is no person or obstacle around the moving portion. +Make sure that there is no abnormal noise at the motor, gear and so on. *Make sure that the safety unit functions normally. + Make sure that there is no other foreign matter than goods to be conveyed on the conveyance portion. ZX CAUTION + Geared motor below 0.75kw is of a grease filled type and so maintenance-free, but make sure that there is no oil leakage from the reducer. *Geared motor over L5kw is of a lubricating oil type, so make sure that lubricating oil is contained in it, If ol is not contained, fill lubricating oil 3-1-4 OPERATION Z\WARNING + Arrange your cloth and hair so that they should be caught into the driving portion or rotating portions. Do not let part or the entire of your body go into the rotating portions during operation. “Do not wipe away cutting powder or so attached on the rotating portions and conveyance portion during operation When to wipe away such cutting powder or so, be sure to tum off the conveyor. *Do not lean against the conveyor during operation. +Do not get on the conveyor during operation. +The motor may become very hot during operation and after operation, so do not touch it with your hand ZX CAUTION + Turn on the switch once and turn it off to make sure the rotating direction.In the case of reverse rotation, connections shall be corrected by qualified person in charge of electric construction. + Do not let other thing than cutting powder ( scraps, etc. ) get into the conveyor during operation. Otherwise, the conveyor may be damaged + While discharging cutting powder ( scrap, ete. ), carry out continuous operation of the conveyor. “Pay attention to the amount of cutting powder. When the amount of cutting powder over the set conveyance amount is charged onto the conveyor, if the conveyor start-up portion is clogged with cutting powder , repeat reverse rotation and normal rotation to remove clogging. If it does not work, contact our head office or our sales office at your place.sTOP OPERATION Z\ WARNING + When you stop operation temporarily and leave the conveyor, be sure to turn off the switch of the control panel attached to the conveyor or the console panel of the mainframe. [m3 -6 COMPLETION OF OPERATION ZA. WARNING + When you end operation and leave the conveyor, be sure to stop the conveyor and tum off the power source. + When you clean the conveyor too, be sure to stop the conveyor and turn off the power source in the same manner. + When to remove cutting powder, put on gloves. + After all the operating procedures have been completed, make sure that the conveyor is in its initial status at the start of operation. Otherwise, get it in the initial status and then turn off the power source. (8)CHAPTER4 MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION (1) Geared motor below 0.75kw is of greaseffilled type, so maintenance free, however, pay attention to oil leakage. In the event of oil leakage contact our head office or our service office at your place, + Geared motor over 1.5kw is of lubricating oil type, so check always the oil gauge to keep the specified oil amount. See EES ll level gage (2) Change oil at 100hours initially, thereafter every 1,500 thru 2,000 hours. (3) Check motor for abnormal operation, ie. noise. Heat, exces sive current, etc. (4) Keep correct tension of conveyor chain by adjusting take-up bearing. (Obtain equal tension on both right and left hand conveyor chains by adjusting screw) D Tako-up berting treme ® Satety device ® Tako-up berting ® Tension adjusting screw The sagging of the chain at the return side shall be about 5 to mm, ca(5) Check roller chain between motor and conveyor for proper alignment and correct tension. @ Roller chain @ Tension adjusting bolt s £ \ The sagging of the chain (ss') shall be about 2% of the span. Look into the cause of overload to remove it. 2. Loosen the bolt 5, and set the cam 6 free. 3. Press the protruding dock 2 back to the holder 3. 4, Position the cam 6 so as not to contact the pin 4, and fasten the bolt 5, «aay5-3. DRIVING SHAFT ( BALL CLUTCH ) @ ee @ take-up arm ® Ball clutch ® Lock nut ® strong spring © Driving sprocket ® Conveyor sprocket ® oriving shat 5-3-1 BALL CLUTCH Our chip conveyor is equipped with a ball clutch that has mechanism where the strong spring holding the ball contracts and slips at overload during operation and thereby protects the conveyor. The structure is as shown in the figure below. Position the cam 6 so as not to contact the pin 4, and fasten the bolt 5. (as)@5-5 BELT DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY METHOD BELT DISASSEMBLY 1. Move the belt, and stop it so that the portion where the shaft is engaged by a cotter pin should be located at the position shown in FIG.A. (See to it that the cotter pin comes to the center of the take-up siot hoie.) os — a A \ 2. Remove the chain cover, remove the spriag clip of the roller chain and remove the chain. Engage the hinge plate, the side plate, and the link plate by use of wire as shown below so that the disassembled belt parts should not fall apart. {jpa=ae) a 6. Pull out the lower belt. (If you pull out the belt forcibly, it may spring out which please note.) = Up==al Pull the belt Now, disassembly is completed. Carry out each maintenance work. an)7. ENGAGING CONVEYOR 1) Pull out the belt in the direction of the arrow. 2) Place the upper belt on the position shown in the figure. Upper belt Lower belt & ENGAGE THE BELT. 1) Engage the hinge plate to the belt, place 2 side plates(so as not to mistake directions), the link plate, the roller precisely in this order, and insert the joint shaft. (In type B, the link plate may be arranged externally, which please note) «s)2) Assemble the parts in the same order in the opposite side. Move the belt, and stop it where the spring clip comes to the tension holp. 2. Remove the roller chain for driving the conveyor. 3. Loosen the left and right tension adjustment bolts of the conveyor. 4, Remove the spring clip(or the cotter pin)of the conveyor chain. 5. Remove the joint link, separate the conveyor chain into the upper and lower portions, and pull out the belt in the belt running direction. (ASSEMBLY) As for assembly, follow the reverse order of disassembly. (20)CHAPTER 6 MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION OF HOLLOW TYPE SPEEDER (1) A REDUCTION GEARBOX Complete oil changes should be made every 2000 hours or every six months thereafter. (SO VG150~320) (HEOQ50---500ec _HEO70---1200ce) @) MOTOR Check the sounds,tempera ture and elec:ric currents in the motor under the operation. (3) CHAIN 1) Keep the correct tension of conveyor chains by adjusting take-up-bearings. 2) Supply oil to the conveyor chains every 150 hours. A detector is arranged as an optional part. The rotation cycle of the rotary plate arranged at the end of the driving shaft is monitored by a contactless switch and a timer, and when the safety device works and the cycle is delayed, error signal is output. Contactless, switch Rotary plate (2)CHAPTER7 MAINTENANCE INSPECTION Carry out daily, monthly, and annual inspections in accordance with the following instructions: ( At your request to ENOMOTO ENGINEERING at telephone number 0853-89-2888, we will carry out one-year inspection or periodical inspection after over 2,500 hours for a consideration. ) (DAILY INSPECTION ITEMS} + Check the oil amount of the geared motor. ( This is not necessary in the case of grease-filled type. ) + Check the motor for noise and temperature ( temperature guaranteed up to Gore ) . + Check the lubrication to the conveyor chain and the roller chain. + Remove cutting powder from the belt upper portion and the frame inside. ( Place waste on the belt upper portion, and carry out reverse rotation until waste is discharged out from the exhaust port. ) (MONTHLY INSPECTION ITEMS) + Exchange oil at the first 100 hours, and after that every 1,500 to 2,000 hours. +Check the motor for noise, temperature and current. + Adjust the belt tension by use of the take-up bearing. (Refer to 4 in chapter 4. ) + Check the engagement and tension of the roller chain between the motor and the conveyor. ( Refer to 5 in chapter 4. ) + Pay sufficient attention to lubrication to the roller chain so that oil should not attach to the friction plate of the torque limiter. - Lubricate the conveyor chain and the roller chain every 150 hours. (22)(ONE YEAR INSPECTION ITEMS) + Carry out all the items of the monthly inspection. + Pull out the belt, and clean the inside of the frame. + Check the frame inside and the belt for damaged portion and exchange such damage portion. + Check the bolt fastening portion for slackness. + Check the friction plate of the torque limiter for abrasion. { Confirm the specifications. ) Check the friction plate of the tj clutch for abrasion. ( Confirm the specifications. ) In ordering, be sure to tell us the production number and the date of production. DISPOSAL OF CHIP CONVEYOR Request a specified company ( industrial waste disposal company or so ) to dispose your chip conveyor under specified procedures. (23)WARRANTY TERM _ One full year from the date of production ———————|_ WARRANTY In the event of any failure in normal operation conditions under the operation manual, the company shall repair such a failure free of charge during the warranty term. At the necessity of repair, bring or send us the actual machine and this warranty. The expenses required for transportation to us shall be shouldered by customer. © According to the contents of failure, we may replace the machine with an appropriate substitute in place of repair even during the warranty term, the following shall be paid for: Failure owing to misuse, inappropriate repair or modification + Exchange of expendable supplies such as friction plate, roller, etc. + Failure or damage owing to fire, earthquake, flood, ete.
