Best Practices Brazil with TAXBRA
Partner Solution Center LAC recommendations based on Partners feedbacks
Based on Brazilian Partners feedbacks, follow a recommendation of how to activate SAP Best
Practices for Brazil and following implement the TAXBRA:
1. Because the Client 000 configuration is required for Localization, request a Greenfield landscape with Merged
Client (don’t use the enterprise management layer for S4HC EX/ Model Company Multi or Single country)
2. Create the Client with the “Merged Client” approach (with Client 000 configuration)
3. Activate the SAP Best Practices Brazil with the Merged Client approach

• Comments: we received a feedback from a Partner that only the IVAs had to be created. All other localization configurations were
already in the system

Partner Solution Center LAC recommendations based on tests performed (Enterprise
management layer for S4HC EX/ Model Company Multi or Single country)
Considering that the enterprise management layer for S4HC EX/ Model Company Multi or Single country use the “Best Practices
Client” approach and therefore doesn’t contain the Client 000 configurations and that the tool provided in note 2838358 doesn’t copy
some types of configuration (e.g. condition technique/ pricing procedure), for LAC, since we need the Client 000 configurations for
the localization, we recommend the Greenfield landscape deployment in S4HC EX, without the enterprise management layer for
S4HC EX/ Model Company Multi or Single country.

In the Greenfield landscape deployment, the Partner will have to activate the SAP Best Practices with Merged Client approach (*),
implement the country localization notes and optionally import change requests with the Partner Package configurations and
developments. The Partner needs to remember to check if a Scope Item requires additional license (see Administration Guide to
Implementation of S4H 1909 with Best Practices).

If the Partner decides for the deployment of enterprise management layer for S4HC EX in all tiers (DEV, QAS, PRD), tests of the note
2838358 tool need to be performed before any estimation of effort and time to fulfill the gaps of missing Client 000 configuration. We
recommend the execution of tests before the decision of the S4HC EX deployment option.

It’s important to inform the Customer, that since the enterprise management layer for S4HC EX/ Model Company Single country is a
subset of scope items from S4H 1909, we will not lose any S4H capability. As an example, the S4H 1909 US has 257 Scope Items and
the EML for S4HC EX US 166 Scope Items. For Multi country, the Customer will lose the activation of all 42 countries and additional
Model Company Finance configurations (e.g. Parallel accounting for multinational organizations).

How can we copy configurations from client 000?
If we choose the alternative “1 Best Practices Client” and need some client 000 configuration

• If we choose the Alternative 1 Best Practices Client, without the complete copy of Client 000 tables, the configurations that are not in
the scope of Best Practices will be empty.
• The note 2838358 provide a report that is a tool to copy configurations from Client 000 to the Best Practices Client. The report was
designed as a tool to fill smaller gaps of configuration in the Best Practices Client. Therefore, the use of the tool should not be part of
a standard delivery approach.
• By design the report of note 2838358 doesn’t copy some types of configuration, for example condition technique configurations,
configurations that contain address (e.g. Sales Organization). All these configurations that are not copied are reported in the program
execution log, so the Partners / Customers will be able to be aware of potential missing configuration and manually copy them later.
• In the note 2838358 there is a disclaimer that explains that the use of the tool provided in is at the risk of the Partner or Customer.
Therefore, the Partner should test the report of note 2838358 and not assume that it will fill all the Client 000 configurations gaps.
These tests should be done before the decision of the S4HC EX deployment option (with or without Model Company/ enterprise
management layer for S4HC EX, that uses the Best Practices Client approach).
• Since the enterprise management layer for S/4HC EX Multi-Country edition will be included in the deployed scope for every EX
customer by default. If the Partner don’t ask for a greenfield system landscape, a landscape “re-deployment” is required (additional
cost).
