Using 4A’s Approach

Content Standard: Demonstrate understanding of the importance of nutritional


guidelines and balanced diet in good nutrition and health.

Performance Standard: Consistently demonstrates good decision-making skills in


making food choices.

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, students are expected to;
a. Identifies the nutritional guidelines for Filipino. (H3N-Igh-16)
b. Discusses the different nutritional guidelines.
c. Realizes the importance of following nutritional guidelines.
II. SUBJECT MATTER
TOPIC: Nutritional Guidelines for Filipino

visual aid for the proper nutrition guidelines and worksheets.

servings for different ages of
children.

Here are the following food

children 7 to 12years old:
• Drink eight or more
glasses of water for whole
day.
• Eat up to six servings of
carbohydrates for whole
day. Example: two cups of
rice, pasta, noodles, or
root crops per meal.
• Eat vegetable up to four
servings a day a roughly
more than one cop per
meal.
• Eat fruits up to one serving
per meal or big slice of
fruits per meal.
To prevent malnutrition, it is
necessary to follow proper
nutrition guidelines. These
guides are intended for
Filipinos.
1. Eat a variety of food everyday.

2. Breastfeed infant exclusively


from birth up to 6 months, and
then, give appropriate food
while continuing
breastfeeding.

3. Maintain your children’s


normal growth through proper
diet and monitor their growth
regularly.

4. Consume fish, lean meat,


poultry or dried beans.
5. Eat more vegetable fruits and
root crops.
