Manually set MRZP for TR using A/C configuration

Prerequisites

The machine must be equipped with VPS and a probing system

The rotary must be positioned as shown, using the A axis for tilt, the C axis for rotary, and with the A axis parallel to the machine X
axis.

The A axis tool change offset must be set such that the rotary platter is parallel to the machine XY plane.

STEP 1

1. Using handle jog, position the spindle probe in the center of the rotary
platter center bore.

2. Using VPS, probe the rotary platter center bore and store the resulting
X and Y coordinates in G54

STEP 2

1. Copy G54 X into Setting 303 (MRZP Slave X Offset)

2. Copy G54 Y into Setting 304 (MRZP Slave Y Offset)

STEP 3

1. Using handle jog, rotate the A axis to +90 degrees.

2. Using handle jog, position the spindle probe next to the face of the
rotary platter.

3. Using VPS, probe the rotary platter face Y position and store the result
in G57

4. Using handle jog, rotate the A axis to -90 degrees.

5. Using handle jog, position the spindle probe next to the face of the
rotary platter.

6. Using VPS, probe the rotary platter face Y position and store the result
in G58

STEP 4

1. Zero return the A axis.

2. Using handle jog, position the spindle probe above the face of the
rotary platter.

3. Using VPS, probe the rotary platter face Z position and store the result
in G57.

STEP 5

1. perform the following calculation: (G57 Y + G58 Y)/2). Copy the result
into setting 301 (MZRP Y Offset Master)

2. perform the following calculation: G57 Z - ((G57 Y - G58 Y)/2). Copy

the result into setting 302 (MZRP Z Offset Master)

3. You may use the forms found in Step 6 to keep track of the values
output by the probe.

STEP 6

301 (MZRP Y Offset Master) ____ = (G57 Y ____ + G58 Y ____) / 2

302 (MZRP Z Offset Master) ____ = G57 Z ____ - ((G57 Y ____ - G58 Y
____) / 2)
