The researchers will use a quantitative descriptive design to study senior high school students' perceptions of the implementation of mandatory ROTC at PHINMA Cagayan De Oro College. A standardized questionnaire will be used to collect data on students' physical and psychological capabilities, knowledge, and attitudes regarding ROTC. Random sampling will be used to select 50 students from grades 11 and higher to respond to the survey in April 2023. The data collected will then be analyzed to understand how students feel about the ROTC requirement.

CHAPTER 3

Research Methodology

Research Design

The researchers of this study used a descriptive methodology to explain the issue
and study context.In addition, the students' collective viewpoint on whether each Grade
11 student at PHINMA Cagayan De Oro College gathered relevant data on the varied
effects of ROTC.A questionnaire was also created by the researchers.The quantitative
descriptive design will be used to carry out this investigation.The Senior High School
students' perceptions of the implementation of Mandatory ROTC in the main building of
Phinma Cagayan De Oro College will be the subject of a descriptive portion of the
study.The survey for this study was created by researchers.It will entail outlining,
documenting, analyzing, and interpreting the data facts pertaining to the student
respondents.Students that answer to the survey will really receive it in the fall of
2023.Researchers can find out how Senior High School students feel about the ROTC
PHINMA Cagayan De Oro College requirement.

Research Instrument

The instrument used in this study was the standardized questionnaire checklist which
was the researchers personally administrated the questionnaire to the respondents.
Part I contained the instrument that was employed in determining the perceptions of
teachers in the implemented Mandatory ROTC Program which is adapted from the
study of Cancino, E. c. (2009).

Sampling Technique

Students in grades 11 and college, as well as senior high school, who


participated in the study were the responders.This will apply to PHINMA Cagayan De
Oro College students who are pursuing academic, technical, vocational, and livelihood
paths.With the aid of a random number table, the researchers will conduct random
sampling.The researcher will create a random number table using Microsoft Excel's
built-in random number generator, which will output a list of 50 random numbers for the
researcher to plot.The names of every student enrolled in grades 11 and higher are
listed in this table for the academic year 2023.The Senior High School Guidance
Advocate will be contacted by the researchers to provide the list of students who are
currently enrolled in PHINMA Cagayan De Oro College.

Data Analysis

The researches will utilize a survey questionnaires that


will be used in conducting a research and in order to
perform this the researchers will take advantage to visits
the students both SHS and College I to gather their
insights about the Physical and Psychological
Capabilities their extent knowledge also their attitude
about the implementation of Mandatory ROTC in the
Senior High School Students.

The researchers will prepare letters to experts for


validation or evaluation of the crafted research
questionnaire and a letter of permission in conducting
the research which the researchers explain what the
research is all about, why and how is it going to be done.
Attached to the letters of intent is the questionnaire for
the student-respondents.

The researchers will conduct the distribution of the


survey-questionnaire to the Senior High School Students
locating at the PHINMA Cagayan De Oro College I on
April 3 and 4 after class since this will be the free time of
the researches and will seek for a permit to the officer-in-
charge to allow the researches and will seek for a permit
to the office- in-charge to allow the researchers and the
student-respondents to stay in to avoid the disruption of
classes. There will be prepared Google forms for a fast,
efficient, and effective conduct of the survey. The
researchers will divide the group in order to distribute the
survey-questionnaire to every section and will take only
for about 10minutes in utilizing the survey.
