CS 3306 LEARNING JOURNAL UNIT 6

On Monday of this week, I began my coursework with the learning guild. After

reading the prerequisites and expectations, I read the materials that were made

available to us. I read about transactions in databases and realized how crucial they

are to databases. I then try to complete my discussion forum assignment, which

asks us to create and label a workflow between a professor and student based on

the submission of assignments and potential outcomes. I used Microsoft Visio

software to create my workflow, but unfortunately when I tried to submit it, my

image was missing. I believe the platform does not support it, and despite my best

efforts, I was unable to do so because only my text is visible.

Since there isn't a written task this week due to the graded quiz, I then

started a self-quiz. I took my self-quiz three times until I finally earned a perfect

score. In addition, I enjoy taking all of the week's questions, so I frequently took

the self-quiz again to observe how the questions varied. Even though I didn't obtain

the ideal score I was hoping for since I missed one of the questions on my graded

quiz, I still think I performed alright and am happy with my result.

Example of transaction

I have many different instances of transactions because I frequently purchase

online, but let me share one from recently. There is a well-known app called
Shopee here in Malaysia, but I don't enjoy using it for my shopping because of

security difficulties I've had with it in the past, which forced me to terminate my

account with them.

I recently returned to this app and purchased some microphones and cable there for

the concert I'm holding this Sunday. Every action I took is saved to the database; it

all began with the initial creation of an account, and after numerous searches, there

is this feature that allows me to return to the pages I previously searched for. Once

I was finished and needed to make payment, I was asked to enter my information

and credit card information, and after doing so, the price of the items was deducted

from my account.

As a user of the app, I might not be able to access the database to know, but after

this week's study, I realize that database play a crucial role in saving customer

details. I was also given a transaction ID, and if there is ever a problem, I can call

the admin and give them my transaction ID, and they will be able to view all of the

things I have purchased.
