Equilibrium Moisture Content (Emc) Chart: Relative Humidity % Ambient Air Temp (Deg. F)

This chart provides the equilibrium moisture content (EMC) for wood based on temperature and humidity readings in a shop. To use it, measure the humidity with a hygrometer and note the temperature, then find where those numbers intersect on the chart to learn the EMC value for wood under those conditions. The EMC indicates the moisture content wood will reach if left in the shop until it equals the moisture in the surrounding air.
