CPPSEC2113 Escort and protect persons and valuables

This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to escort and protect persons and
valuables.
It includes:
 clarifying and applying standard operating procedures and workplace policies
including workplace health and safety (WHS) to comply with legal rights and
responsibilities
 escorting persons and valuables to ensure their safety and security while maintaining
constant and active observation and monitoring to assess, identify and respond to
security risks
 participating in reviews of escort procedures to identify improvements
 knowledge of basic defensive techniques.
It applies to people working independently or under limited supervision as members of a
security team.

This unit may form part of the licensing requirements for people engaged in security
operations in those states and territories where these are regulated activities.

Clustered Assessment
The units of competency within the CPP Property Services training package that form the
CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations qualification include Performance Criteria and
Knowledge Evidence that is repeated across multiple units of competency.

A clustered assessment approach means the student may provide a satisfactory response
once only. The single response will address the assessment requirements that are repeated
across the training package.

Notes to the assessor
1. This assessment is to be conducted in a supervised classroom environment without
the assistance of notes, textbooks etc.
2. The student must complete his/her own work without assistance from other persons:
 Predetermine the timeframe for the assessment and advise the student.
3. The student must answer each of the questions. The student’s answers must align
with AQF level 2 according to the Australian Qualification Framework 2013.
4. Each aspect of the assessment tasks must be assessed as satisfactory in order for
the student to achieve a satisfactory result.
5. The student will be given the opportunity to be assessed as satisfactory.
6. Assessors are encouraged to provide feedback and coaching, if required, with a view
to assisting the student to achieve competency.
7. Complete the assessment sign off sheet with the student.
8. Return the completed assessment, all supporting documents and material, and
assessment sign off sheet to the RTO as soon as possible after the completion of the
assessment.

When completing marking the student’s assessment paper:


 Compare the student’s response to the benchmark answers provided within this
document
 When assessing the student's material, use 'S' for Satisfactory and 'NYS' for Not
Yet Satisfactory in the marking box provided
 Write comments as required to indicate how this professional judgement was made
