PA3 - Tidal Calculation

This document outlines an assessment for a navigation course involving the calculation of tidal heights and under-keel clearances. The assessment will take 60 minutes total, with 10 minutes for briefing, 40 minutes for execution of tidal calculations, and 10 minutes for debriefing. Students will use tide tables and harbor charts to compute tidal heights and under-keel clearances for specified ports and times, and their work will be scored on accuracy according to a rubric. Students are allowed two retakes if initially failing and must take refresher modules before a third attempt.
