Malaga National High School Main Campus, a secondary school in the
Division of Calbayog City situated far north of the City, built in 1969 is a
home of learners coming from coastal areas of Cagmanipis Norte and Sur,
Malaga, Tinaplacan and Bugtong, for almost five decades now, in
continuously, opening itself in the service of its countrymen. The scheme as
a steward of a learner-centered public institution incessantly advancing its
learners values that will make them better if not the best that they can be.
For years, Malaga National High School main campus is an apostle of
learners whose resilience is far more flexible than anybody could even
believe, whose hope perseveres, and whose faith endures and equalities a
common people embarks.
Malaga National High School, from its humble beginning from nipa huts
in mud soil to now sturdy buildings have been producing hundreds of
successful graduates in their chosen fields.
Our school is a school for all having always a strong desire to be at par
with other schools in the city. To be globally competitive in our fervent hope
to all our learners in order to meet the demand of the 21st century learning.
Our school is a work in progress, proving our stakeholders that we will uphold
our advocacy at hand that “No learners shall be left behind”.

Malaga National High School is a secondary public high school in the
Division of Calbayog City. It was established on June 7, 1969 as Barangay High
School and then in 1988 it was declared as National High School by then
President Corazon C. Aquino. It is an institution that delivers basic quality
education which aims at exemplifying school efficiency and governance. It is an
institution that delivers basic quality education which aims at exemplifying
school efficiency and governance. It is composed of 28 Junior High School
teachers, 9 Senior High School Teachers and 3 Non- Teaching Personnel.
Malaga National High School is a competitive and quality driven school
which partake in rigorous academic developments, academic contest and
athletic competition. For so many years, the school has received countless
accolades which allows the students to be developed holistically- thus bringing
the vision of the school into reality, producing a 21st century skilled learner.
The school’s accomplishment for this CY 2019 is a manifestation of
collaborative effort of all the teachers, stakeholders and students as well.
In terms of ACCESS, the enrolment of the school marks a varying trend. For
the school year 2019-2020 the Junior High enrolment from 736 to 743 and
Senior High enrolment from 167 to 179. This clearly shows an increase in the
enrolment in both junior and senior high school.
In terms of QUALITY, Mean Percentage Score (MPS) measures student
achievement and determine the least learned skills. For the first-two quarters
the MPS in all subjects significantly increased. It is the manifestations that
teachers perceive their job as equipping students their knowledge and expertise
needed participation in home, school and community.
In terms of GOVERNANCE, Malaga National High School advocates to
strengthen the teachers in equipping and developing holistic, skilled 21st
Century learners.

1.Kalambuan 2019!
A celebration initiated by the school under the leadership of our former Concurrent
School Head, Dr. Joy B. Saldańa which reunited the school to the stakeholders from every
Barangay within its catchment areas.

2. Paambit sa Gugma
An activity done during the Season of Love and Sharing in which the
school have identified learners whose families were greatly affected by typhoon
Tisoy. It was a simple gift giving activity which reminded the choosen affected
individuals from Brgy. Cagmanipis Sur to Brgy. Bugtong to never lose hope and
faith.

Last September 19, 2020, there was an installation of the Concurrent
School Head who happens to be the Education Program Supervisor in Science, Dr.
Joy B. Saldańa.
Then, on November 25, 2019, a new School Head was assigned to our school
in the person of Mrs. Rowena Lentejas-Oyo-a, Assistant School Principal II.

Last October 21-25, 2019, TESDA Conducted a 5-day training for COC
(Certificate of Competency) for Housekeeping attend by all Senior High Sctudents.
90% of its population received the COC for Housekeeping by passing the assess-
ment conducted by the TESDA assessors.
This milestone remarks a significant achievement for the Senior High School
of this institution. This is a great help for the students who will undergo immersion
wherein they can apply their knowledge when they will be deployed for their
immersion.

Malaga National High School is committed to attain quality education, with this
we are proud that on the year 2019, we were able to represent our school in the
Schools Division of Calbayog City on both Academic and Non-academic
competitions. We have 7 Regional Qualifiers in the Regional School Paper
Conference 2019 (RSPC) held at Tacloban City last November 25-29, 2019. There
are Athletes who will be joining the EVRAA 2020 to be held in Burauen, Leyte.
Who also have four National Qualifiers in the 17th National Math and Science
Quest by ASEP in Baguio City.

The graph presents the overall accomplishments of the school in CY 2019. It


reveals that access area had achieved 100% rating due to the increase of the
enrolment of this year from 903 to 922.
The figure also reflected school performance for the area of quality which
attained only 85% because of the existence of non-readers.
For the area of governance, the figure reveals 100% accomplishments
because of high academic achievements like competitions in the district and
division, increasing stakeholder’s participation.

Project BPASAR
(BOOST AND PROMOTE ACADEMECIANS FOR SUC-
CESFULL ACHIEVEMENT THROUGH READING)
Slogan No Learners should be Left Behind
Program Description This Project BPASAR aims to implement school programs and
projects, by helping the learners to achieve paragon learning in
Reading.
Results show that Malaga National High School had low
promotion rate among all the Secondary Schools in the Division of
Calbayog City. Reasons are due to non-readers, poverty, early
marriage, employment and transfer of residence.
The project BPASAR had been the answer to the existing
problems the school had, and to other several problems related on
having a low promotion rate. With these, the School was able to
identify eleven (11) specific school projects that would boost said
problems.
Project BPASAR is then anticipating that student promotion rate
be increased through the different projects implemented with the
help and guidance of the Administrator and the Teachers expertise
in their field leading to an increase in academic performance and
achievement.
