HIRAC Workshop - Final

This document outlines a proposed occupational safety and health program for scaffolding work at a construction project. The program aims to develop skills for scaffolding workers through training to ensure their safety working at heights. Key elements of the program include selecting workers for training, coordinating their training with an approved center, having trained workers apply their skills on-site while being evaluated for safety and efficiency. The program will be evaluated every two months by project engineers and safety officers.

TWO OSH PROGRAM
OSH PROGRAM 1

Program Title: Manpower development program in scaffolding

Purpose:
1 To develop appropriate skills for workers in scaffolding.
2 To enhance the level of awareness for workers when it comes to the possible
outcome that may occur during failure.
3 To ensure the safety of workers working at heights.

Scope:
This program focuses on the training and development of workers who are
working at heights. Teaching them the proper tools and materials needed for proper installation
of scaffolds. The skills attained may be applied at every project site that it may be used.

Persons Responsible :
a. Project Managers - he will develop and implement this program at every project.
Coordination to traning center or practitioners must he prepare.
b. Project Engineers - supervise and select right workers to undergo the training.
Also ensures that skills obtained are well applied on site.
c. Safety Officer - check for safety in scaffolding works at site.
Must also have the skills and knowledge for that certain job.
d. Workers - they will be the main character for this program.
They will have to undergo training for there skills in scaffolding.

Resources needed :
a. Training Center i.e TESDA
b. Complete PPE i.e harness
c. Scaffolding Materials

Steps/procedure in doing the safety activity:

1 The project engineer may select specific workers at site to undergo the training.
2 The safety officer may assist the workers and coordinate to training center.
3 The manager may now endorse this workers to the management for the budget.
4 The workers may now undergo training, after the training he must apply what
he learn to promote safety and efficiency at work.

How frequent will the program be evaluated:

The program may be evaluated every 2 months. Through the data gathered on
site comparing before and after the training wether it is effective or not. Also the workers must be
evaluated for its effectivity on site activities.

Who will evaluate the program:

The project engineer will gather data on the effect of the worker for that activity.
He must see the output wether it helps produce efficiency and quality. The safety officer may
evaluate the worker how well he is doing the job. He must evaluate wether the worker promotes
safety on jobsite. The data gathered will be endorsed to the manager for proper evaluation and
recommendation.
