Guide Questions:

1. State the mechanisms (strategies) that the school takes to create linkages and harmonious
relationship with parents, guardians and stakeholders.

In our school, we hold parents and teachers meeting/conferences or what is usually known as
PTA Meeting. We do have these meetings every year with the parents, in order to talk about
things that are needed to be given attention. We elects parent officers that would serve as spokes
persons or even serve as facilitators of some matters in the class. We also tell them some of our
plans and we also listen to their suggestions and concerns.

Another strategy that we employ in our school is that we encourage parents to join activities in
school like brigada, etc. By doing these, parents could show their support and involvement in the
educational experiences of their children. Aside from that, them being present in these activities
is a way for us to communicate and establish a much better relationship with them.

2. How teachers establish and promote professional links with their colleagues?

In my experience, teachers establish professional links/relationships with colleagues by


collaborating with them. Teachers share ideas on how to handle things in teaching or even
managing a certain student. Teacher also help each other by sharing resources and materials in
teaching.

Teachers also seek opportunities through attending committee meetings where they share updates
and plans for the improvement of the school in general. So basically, we can create a strong
relationship with our fellow teachers by having communications with them.
3.How school learning action cell (SLAC) sessions improve professional relationships and
development?

As far as I know, SLAC sessions is a particular strategy intended for teachers to be involved in a
collaborative session basically to develop teaching practices. So it is where we teachers work
together to create a plan on how to develop teaching in general. There we analyze data from our
students, and then we share ideas on how to cater or handle this specific student.

So, SLAC Sessions, I believe help improve professional relationships by encouraging the most
important thing which is collaboration with your colleagues. Because through these sessions,
teachers can share something like class practices or techniques in giving instructions. So
basically, it is for the common good of teachers and of course, the students.

4.How do you build strong relationship towards your community?

As someone who is really busy in my job as a teacher, I think what I do to establish a strong
relationship with the community is to involve parents in the educational experience of their
children. I believe in that way, I can collaborate with them and I consider it as a way to build
strong relationship towards the community as they are part of it.

Sometimes I also participate in some activities like cleaning or fund raising to show my support
in the community and the children as well even outside the school premises.

experiences. I am a third-year college student in Cebu Normal University and I am conducting
this interview as part of my activity in the course Educ 13.

The purpose of this interview is to gather information about your teaching experiences
particularly in professional and community relationships. Your participation in this interview is
voluntary and you may withdraw at any time without any consequences.

The interview will take approximately 10-15 minutes and will be conducted through messenger
