Introduction
The principal educator of Experimental Psychology, Qazi Muhammad Aslam
had gone through a while at the University of Calcutta to get preparing in Experimental
Psychology and Psychological Research. After independence Professor Dr. Shahabuddin
Muhammad Moghni, organizer of the Psychology Department at the University of
Peshawar was the sole individual who cared for the organization just as educating and
investigates. This is how the base of experimental psychology in Pakistan was laid.
In Experimental Psychology, we study wide range of behavioural topics among
humans and animals, including sensation, perception, attention, memory, cognition and
emotion. Experimental psychology is important because the findings play a vital role in our
understanding of the human mind and behaviour.
By better understanding exactly what makes people tick, psychologists and other
mental health professionals can explore new approaches to treating psychological distress and
mental illness. Experimental research allows you to test your idea in a controlled environment
before taking the research to clinical trials
The scope of Experimental psychology is concerned with testing theories of
human thoughts, feelings, actions, and beyond, any aspect of being human that involves the
mind. This is a broad category that features many branches within it like; behavioral
psychology, cognitive psychology.
In this study we would discover applications of Experimental Psychology in
Pakistan like how experimental Psychologist use scientific research and methods to provide
insights that improve teaching and learning, create safer workplaces and transportation
systems, improve substance abuse treatment programs and promote healthy child
development.

Applications of Experimental Psychology in Pakistan.
The experiments performed in Pakistan over the last 20-25 years are mostly
based on finding the causes of depression, anxiety, social relationships, stress and the
affects that might disturbs child mental and developmental condition.
There are two theoretical approaches to conduct psychological researches, the
first one is to study limited aspects of behavioural observed under controlled conditions. This
can permit accuracy and the use of quantitative measurement. And the second approach is
more concerned with the analysis and explanation of responses as these occur in real life
situations.
Experimental Psychologist are interested in finding the answers of various
questions related to an individual’s development or a society and its effects. Keeping in
view the cultural context of Pakistan, there are a lot of restrictions and hurdles in
experimental studies like; safety, privacy, religious factors, biasness, gender
discrimination, accuracy issues, availability, resources and facilities.
While experimental psychology is sometimes thought of as a separate branch or
subfield of psychology, experimental methods are widely used throughout all areas of
psychology in Pakistan.
Developmental psychologists in Pakistan uses experimental methods to study how people
grow through childhood and over the course of a lifetime.
Like, “Effect of child labor on Child’s attitude” is the study conducted by Experimental
Psychologists in Pakistan. To study how the child labor affects Childs Attitude and
developmental process.
Social psychologists in Pakistan use experimental techniques to study how people are
influenced by groups. How they behave in a group, their perceptions, thought process, actions
and how they proceed their relationships with others.
Similarly, the study conducted by Experimental Psychologists in this field involves “marriage
and mental Illnesses in Female” this study helps in determining the relationship of marriage
and its social and mental effect.

Health psychologists rely on experimentation and research to better understand the factors
that contribute to wellness and disease. Exactly what factor of environment contributes the
most in promoting health issues, its effects on individual or society physically and mentally
both.
Experimental Psychologists conducted the studies in this field like “The stress and Diabetes;
a congruency Hypothesis”. This study helps psychologists to study the health factors in
psychological well-being.
Clinical Psychologists uses the researches and findings of experimental Psychologists of
their fields. To know what exactly contributes more in treating individuals the most. What
factors should be observed, studied, and improved in it. It contributes the most in mental
well-being of a person.
The study conducted in this subfield is; “Effects of Cognitive behavioral Therapy on
Depression”. This was used to know the effectiveness of treatments provided to the clients.
How to increase the improving ratio and maintain treatment factors.
In general, the purpose of Experimental Psychologist is to conduct the experiments
in different settings to study different aspects of life to make changes and improvements. And
to know the reasoning behind structures, traditions, cultures, perceptions and way of livings.

Scope Of Experimental Psychology
The current structure is the result of that extraordinary felt need and was
planned uniquely as Psychology Department. The Department moved in 1972 and began
growing as far as Faculty individuals, Seminar Library, Laboratory Equipment, and
Psychological Tests, and so forth. The Department by and by offers specialization
in Experimental Psychology and Psychological Research. The Department is additionally
outfitted with a lab for experimentation and distributes an exploration diary Khyber
Behavioural Studies.
Experimental psychology is the most important branch of psychology. The credit for
establishing psychology on a scientific basis goes to experimental method. This method is now
being used more and more in psychological studies in Pakistan as well. The most important
areas covered by experimental psychologists are psycho-physics, animal psychology, learning
psychology, psychology of differences, child developmental psychology, educational
psychology, health psychology, clinical psychology etc. Due to development in experimental
psychology, it has developed their breadth of knowledge in other fields of Psychology.
There are experimental branches in many other areas known as Subfields of
Experimental Psychology. These areas include the study of sensation and perception, learning
and memory, motivation, and biological psychology. Following are the names of subfields:
• Developmental Psychology
• Clinical Psychology
• Educational Psychology
• Social Psychology.
• Health Psychology
Usually, the experimental psychologist deals with normal, intact organisms; in biological
psychology, however, studies are often conducted with organisms modified by surgery,
radiation, drug treatment, or long-standing deprivations of various kinds or with organisms
that naturally present organic abnormalities or emotional disorders.

Conclusion
To Conclude, experimental Psychology is a very important branch of Psychology which
helps in contributing new studies and develop new theories of Psychology which helps in
improving human development and environment. Experimental Psychologists conduct
experiments in different settings to study cultural differences, cognitive differences,
developmental differences, etc. it also helps in studying cause and effect relationships
between different variables that contributes in making the society and perceptions of human
being. It helps in different fields of Psychology.
