Had my first EPQ lesson, an introduction of the course was given, where we were told the
outlines of what the EPQ was all about and were told about how we should use it to focus on
10/10/2022 questions that might be of help in our future subject choices. I have a vague idea of wanting
to it about economics as that’s what I feel like will interest me the most.

17/10/2022 I thought about some questions that can be done for econ and was able to write down a few
ideas that I was thinking of going with, this took quite a bit of time to narrow down as I
searched through google trying to find questions that I could write a lot about. It might take
me a few days to narrow down all the questions onto one final question, which I will be using.

19/10/2022 I finally narrowed down the all the options onto a final one. I decided to tackle the question
of “Does a lack of wealth in childhood hold you back in life”. I choose to do this one as, I feel
like there would be a lot that can be talked about such as the factors that can cause children
to be disadvantaged and the different ways people can get an advantage with wealth. Finally
choosing a question got me a bit excited about heading forward with the EPQ.

14/11/2022 The second EPQ lesson just happened and in it we learnt about literature collection and how
we can get different sources of research for out EPQ. There were tones of options whether it
be books, internet, newspaper etc. We were also given a helpful sheet to record the findings
of our search for literature. During the lesson I started thinking about what I could use to find
it.

20/11/2022 During the last week I was scouring through the google scholar looking for and information
related to my question about the question I chose, but it was very difficult to identify. I have
been spending countless hours over the past week trying to find at least 10 sources that was
required before the next lesson. I feel a bit frustrated because it feels like there is nothing
related to this topic at all.

28/11/2022 I had another EPQ lesson today and in it we discussed writing the introduction of the
EPQ, and got set a assignment to get it done by the next lesson.

3/12/2022 I’ve decided to create a contents page for my EPQ so that I can have my sections more
laid out, allowing me to focus on one section at a time. This might help me keep my
work organised and have a well structured idea making it more easy for me to keep
track of progress.

5/12/2022 I completed the contents page and split up my EPQ into a few sections with subsections
to make it easier for me to keep focused. I feel like this might be helpful for me later.

8/12/2022 Under a lot of pressure. We are supposed to hand-in the introduction in 3 days’ time and
I’ve still got loads to do. Also physics work is due at the end of the week. I am working
late tonight and luckily I’ve got some stdy periods tomorrow afternoon where I hope to
get more done.
11/12/2022 I’m pleased with what I’ve done. I’ve written 1100 words and covered what my EPQ is
about and the main question I will be tackling. I’ve also started planning the first section
of my EPQ. It is looking promising so far.
12/12/2022 I got my assignment handed back with feedback that I’m going to need to work on, but
overall I think it was a good start to my project. In the EPQ lesson today we were
allowed to apply the feedback given to us. The next lesson is very far away and I feel
that might make me take it too easy.
7/1/2023 It’s a new year and I finally decided to start working on my EPQ again, as over the past
few weeks I felt very unmotivated dur to it finally being the holidays, and have finally
now got the motivation to continue to power through my EPQ.

9/01/2023 In today’s lesson, Dr Harris wasn’t in so we were told to go to the normal classroom and
work on our EPQ, I went and worked on it but felt like I was lacking knowledge so only
did a bit of work on it while I try improve my knowledge.
23/01/2023 We’ve just been told that we have to have the first draft written by the next EPQ lesson.
In the EPQ class today, I did a ton of work on my second section of my EPQ and was a bit
unsure if I could be able to do it and hand it in on time.

6/02/2023 I finally handed in the draft and it looks like it is finally complete and I can finally relax now
until the final draft submission date which we don’t know the date of yet. 

19/12/2023  I have been patiently waiting to get my EPQ back in order to see how well it has been done so
far 

6/03/2023  We got our feedback back and there is a lot of stuff that I can work on to improve my EPQ and
intend to continue doing my best to write my best EPQ possible. We also got told about our
presentations being sometime soon but no date has been confirmed 

25/03/2023  I finally feel like have a work that I can be proud of and am very happy with though it took a lot
of time.
