Bandung as Sea of Fire was a fire that occurred in the city of Bandung on March 24, 1946. Within seven
hours, about 200,000 residents of Bandung burned their homes.
British troops as part of the Brigade MacDonald arrived in Bandung on October 12, 1945. Bandung was
deliberately burned by TRI and local people. There were black smoke billowing high into the air
everywhere. The British Army began to attack so fierce. The greatest battle happened in the Village name
Dayeuh Kolot, in South Bandung, where there were a large ammunition depot belonging to British. In this
battle, Barisan Rakyat Indonesia destroyed the ammunition depot.
The strategy to fire Bandung was considered because the power of TRI and people’s militia was not
comparable to the British forces and NICA. This incident inspired to create the famous song “Halo Halo
Bandung”. To remember what they did and struggled, they built the Bandung Lautan Api monument.

“ ISRA MIRAJ NABI MUHAMMAD SAW “


Isra Miraj is one of the important events in Islamic history, which tells the
spiritual journey of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The story of this journey
is important, because in the Isra Miraj incident, the Prophet received an
order from Allah SWT, namely the command to perform the five daily
prayers. Muslims commemorate Isra Miraj every 27th Rajab in the Hijri
year.
The background of this incident was that at that time the Prophet
Muhammad was sad because of the loss of his uncle, Abi Talib, and his
wife, Khadijah. To relieve his sadness, the Prophet Muhammad was given
the gift of the Isra Miraj trip by Allah SWT. In addition, the trip is a proof
that the Prophet Muhammad SAW followed the path of the previous
prophets. The events of Isra Miraj are described as a physical and spiritual
journey for the Prophet Muhammad SAW. In Arabic, Isra means a journey
at night, while Miraj is an ascension. Although often interpreted as one
event, Isra and Miraj actually consist of two parts of the journey of the
Prophet Muhammad. The Miraj event is a journey carried out by the
Prophet Muhammad SAW from the Al Aqsa Mosque up to the seventh
heaven or Sidratul Muntaha. On the way to Sidratul Muntaha, the Prophet
Muhammad saw the previous prophets in every level of the seven heavens.
