ABSTRACT: This study was undertaken to determine if it is feasible to open a store that
involves selling Mango Tapioca. A strategic analysis was used to determine if the mango
tapioca could be a legitimate competitor among many mango tapioca around Sibonga,
Cebu. To determine if the Mango Tapioca could compete in the market is to perform a
competitive analysis against what we are determined to be the top local competitors.
Following the strategic analysis, a financial analysis was executed to determine whether
the operation offered a profitable investment. This included an examination of startup
costs and funding, as well as the creation of an income statement, statement of cash
flow, and a balance sheet that were based off a thirty six month sale forecast. These
financial forms made it possible to perform a break even analysis that had the final say
as to whether or not the restaurant could be a profitable investment.

INTRODUCTION
In Filipino cuisine, sugar is everywhere. Filipinos are known to have a sweet tooth. They
love to eat comfort foods with a sweet sugar profile. Philippine climate is tropical characterized
by relatively high temperature so it is really expected that you can find coolers everywhere.
Mango Tapioca is a refreshing dessert that is made from sweet mangoes, tapioca or sago,
cream and milk. Mango Tapioca is a Cantonese dessert that originated at a renowned Hong
Tapioca is a starch extracted from cassava root, a tuber native to South America. The cassava
root is relatively easy to grow and dietary staple in several countries in Africa, Asia, and South
America. It reached the Asia around the 17th century, when Spanish brought it to Mexico to
Philippines.
The traditional way of preparing this dessert is by using condensed milk and coconut milk but
we created a version that uses evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream, gulaman, mangoes
and cheese to add creaminess and sweetness and to be different from how tapioca is
traditionally being prepared and served. Adding gulaman is optional but we find it more
attractive to see that something afloat on the top of the bottle because sago submerges at the
bottom.
Our creamy and cheesy mango tapioca is a tropical treat that will satisfy the customer’s
cravings, this smoothie is not only tasty but they have healthy benefits too. Mango Tapioca is a
refreshing and satisfying summer dessert, with juicy chunks of mango/coconut milk tapioca
pudding. The glug of heavenly condensed milk doesn’t hurt either. It is an Asian-inspired tropical
chilled treat that uses few ingredients that is found in all supermarkets in the Philippines. The
minerals in tapioca can provide health benefits such as calcium; it also contains iron, mineral
and saturated fat. Aside from its tempting and salivating looks, this dessert fits your wallet as
The company’s historical background started when Imee Medrano became such a fan
of sweet treats, that a day won’t pass by that she won’t buy a treat for herself, mango tapioca was
still very new to the market that time and when she tasted it, she wanted more than what is being
offered to her so she tried making for the very first time and it was indeed a total failure because
she used the big sago, thinking tapioca and that big sago is similar but then she never gave up.
Later on, she was taught where to get the tapioca pearl ingredient, and she tried mixing it up with
other ingredients to make it special and creative. When her family tasted the dessert she made,
they encourage her to do it as a business because it has the potential for an extra income while
she is studying at the same time raising a son by herself. At first, it didn’t click very well so she
started preparing it inside a salad cup for it to be affordable to the buyers. The customers loved it
and soon after that there were orders for special occasions already such as fiestas and birthdays.
Until then that it reaches other Municipality towns because of the good feedbacks received from
customers, from salad cups to circular 250ml tubs, to 500ml rectangular tubs and the latest 330ml
bottle. Each passing day it continues to be well-known in the online market world and we still keep
receiving good feedbacks from our valued repeat buyers and first time customers.

MARKETING ASPECT
This aspect provides information that will show the status of the market in the area of the
projected business. This includes the market size and trend, the competition, and the marketing
strategies which include the sales and distribution, the pricing strategy and promotion strategy.

well as dealers of the products. This will be known before launching the product.

This section will show the competition of D’ Best Mango Tapioca in Sibonga, Cebu.
Mango Tapioca is slowly emerging in the market and is now one of the most talked dessert in
town. As of the moment, there are mango tapioca available in some places in Sibonga, Cebu
but they lack in promoting their product and less people know that such product exist. This
proposed business is under Oligopoly because the product produced is slightly similar to other
products.
2.3 Pricing
This product uses cost-plus pricing strategy because it involves taking the amount it cost
to make the product and increasing that amount by a set percentage to determine the final
price. A fully calculation of the amount used in making this product is important, to know if it
would be a profitable business. For example, in this product the total cost for eighty (80) bottles
is Php1, 800.00 therefore each bottle cost twenty-two pesos and fifty centavos (php22.50).
The price is determined by multiplying the cost of each bottle to 200% to make it
