Tetrode: General

The GU-74b tetrode is a indirectly heated, metal-ceramic tube used in wideband amplifiers and single-sideband power amplification up to 250MHz. It can handle over 550W of output power with a anode dissipation of 600W. Key specifications include a heater voltage of 12.6V, mutual conductance of 32.5mA/V, and a designed life of over 1500 hours. It is similar to the 4CX800A but some report it performs more like a 900-1000W tube.

GU-74b

Tetrode
The GU-74b tetrode is used in wideband nontunable amplifiers and for
single-sideband power amplification in stationary and mobile RF
equipment. It is useful at full ratings through 250MHz. The GU-74b
tetrode is generally considered to be similar to the 4CX800A, although
some users report that it acts more like a tube having 900 or 1000W
anode dissipation.
