Questions:

1. In your own words, briefly define the following, and describe how these
trends change technology project management.
• Globalization (5 points)
Globalization is a thing or process where there is a relationship or
association with different countries. Agreeing to talk, exchanging products
or money, goods, and services, capital, technologies or cultural.
Globalization also benefits emerging economies since they often have a
lower cost of living, which attracts jobs.

• Outsourcing (5 points)
It simply works within the organization and focuses on HR or hiring
new personnel. Outsourcing is the act of transferring business activities
to an external organization that has a level of specializations. A company
provided for another company to create a new product. Managers will
need to understand more about the issues globally.

• Agile project management (5 points)

It is fast gaining acceptance in the business world as a method of
finishing work in the difficult, continuously world. Agile develops in
flexible cultures where team members are willing to adapt as necessary
to improve productivity.
2. Research the trend of using virtual teams. Review the information on team
role theory from https://www.belbin.com/

• Write a short summary of your findings. (5 points)

Belbin is a team that helps the employees be more goal-oriented
and satisfied with their team. Every team has their own point of view
about Belbin, maybe it just depends on the situation and how Belbin is
treated or communicated with by that team and everyone has their own
responsibilities.

• Include any personal experience and your opinion on the topic. For
example, what role(s) would you prefer to play on a team? (5 points)
I didn’t encounter a big project. The project that I only experienced
was creating an activity like a school project, but there was no need to
have a lot of people do that. I also experience issues with my team when
creating a project, including miscommunication, and misunderstanding
among everyone. It starts to feel like the teams can't do well because they
have a gap with each other. But at the end, both are understandable to
finish the work.

• Do you like working on virtual teams? If you have not yet worked on
one, how do you think it would be different from working on a face-to-
face team? (5 points)
Working virtually is not good for me or leaving me unsatisfied even
if we complete the projects. Working face-to-face has a lot of benefits for
every project. There are many differences: in virtual teams, you can't
easily speak up or express your thoughts, and there are sometimes issues,
whereas in face-to-face teams, you can easily describe your ideas by
drawing them or explaining imagined outcomes. There are similarities
because you can talk to your team, but it's even weirder when you're
facing the person you're talking to.

managers understand the organizational context for their projects?

are doing well with their duties to be successful.

team, they are the people that can help in the issues that made and it
focus on empowering and enabling people to do their duties well while
