Animation -

animate means simply alive, Animated cartoons are what

we think of as pictures come to life: animation. To animate
or animation is a modern term used for making digital
illusions of motion. Mostly used in films, videos and any
online or digital content these days.

There are different forms of animation, namely:

 Motion picture film

ANIMATION METHODS:
 Stop motion animation

 Two-dimensional objects (2D)

 Three-dimensional objects (3D)

Animators, on the other hand, are the artists who makes

animation possible. it describe the qualities and
capabilities of this art form as a creative mind and a
strong visual imagination.

Animation is important because it makes us be able

to tell stories and communicate emotions and ideas
in a unique, easy-to-perceive way that both small
children and adults can understand.

The animation industry of the Philippines for the

local market is still growing. Currently, Philippines
only have medium and small animations studios.
However, Filipinos are known as world-class
animators. In fact, we have Toei Animation
Phils., Inc. that has been producing animations
for One piece, Dragon Ball Super, and other
famous animes.
Here is a list of Filipino animators that are known
worldwide. Most of them have worked on films
produced by Disney, Pixar, and other large animations
studios abroad.
 Nelson Bohol
 Ruben Aquino
 Armand Serrano
 Mars Cabrera
 Josie Trinidad
 Bobby Pontillas
 Virginia Cruz-Santos
 Ronnie del Carmen
 Anthony Ocampo
 Cesar Velazquez
Another significant achievement of the animation industry
in the Philippines is the founding of the Animation
Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI). This non-stock,
non-profit organization has helped the animation industry
in the Philippines grow by about 25% yearly.
In fact, Filipino animators have been involved
in the creation of some of the best-loved—and
technically challenging—animated
feature films produced in the last few years.
Such recognition of Philippine talent abroad has, in
fact, spurred the development of the local animation
industry as well.

Animation Council of the

Philippines
The Animation Council of
the Philippines, Inc.
(ACPI) is a non-stock, non-
profit organization that aims
to create an identity for the
Philippines within the
animation industry, making
it one of the preferred
sources for animation
services worldwide. The
organization works hand in
hand with participating
colleges and universities, the
Technical Education and Skills Development
Authority (TESDA) and other government agencies,
and local government units to develop animation as
a promising career option for Filipinos. In 2013,
TESDA and ACPI began offering 2D and 3D
Animation Scholarships to interested high school
graduates, between the ages of 18 and 45.
The showpiece of the ACPI is Animahensayon, an
annual festival and competition featuring the
works of Filipino animators. Apart from this
major project, the ACPI grants the annual
“Outstanding Emerging Artist in Animation
Award” for outstanding young and fast-rising
cartoonists and animators in the country. It also
confers the Animahenasyon's “Lifetime
Achievement
Award” on notable animators and other
contributors to the Philippine animation industry.

Philippine Animation Studio,

Inc.
The Philippine Animation Studio, Inc. (PASI) was
established in 1991 and has
since collaborated on numerous animation projects and
series with foreign partners.

Filipino animators today focus on pop-culture

themes and subjects like Superheroes and
Fantasy fictions, like those seen on foreign
media-services and
production
companies.

 Captain
Flamingo
 Producing
Parker

 Groove High

 Space Heroes
Universe.

Among the other exciting

milestones in the fast-emerging Philippine animation
industry was the creation in 2008 of Urduja,

Also released in 2008 was Dayo: Sa Mundo ng Elementalia,

said to be the country’s
first all-digital full-length animated feature film. Produced by
Cutting Edge

heartwarming
characters in a young boy's adventure.

Another breakthrough was the first

Filipino full 3D animated film, RPG
Metanoia, co-produced by
Ambient Media, Thaumatrope
Animation, and Star
Cinema in 2010.
