3. A seed shopper has a packing of 50 grams of a particular seed for sale. The
however, do not have trust on the shopkeeper and try to test by cusloner,
drawing a sample of 10 each
weighing 50.8, 49.6, 50.4, 51.3, 49.5. 50.5, 49.8, 50.2, S1.4, 49.8. Test the
hypotheses at significance level of 0.05. folowing
a. The average wight of the 6M
packets is more than 50 grams
b. The sample has been drawn from a
population with standard deviation ot 0.5.
4. An electronics
manufacturing company intends to entering into photocopying machine but
before that the company wants to test market. For test
in which five salesmen are marketing they conduct a pilot study
randomly chosen. The company, however, suspects that the
region may affect the sales and accordingly they take region as blocking factor. The sales
data for the pilot study is given below.

The quality control department ofa textile plant is studying the effect ofseveral factors on the
yield of the plant in terms of 1000 meters of fabric. The yield is suspected to be affected by
Cycle times (A), Operators (B), Shifts (C), Batches of raw material (D), and Humidity (E). Each
of
these factors are at two
levels. The investigator has decided to carry out two replications
undereach experimental combination. The investigator has decided to select L8. Factors A, B, c
and D have greater influences on the response. So, he has assigned the factors and relevant
interactions to the columns of L8 orthogonal array as shown in the following table. For each
trial, he collected two replications, which are shown in the same table
Determine main factor effects and perform ANOVA at significance level 0.05. What would be
suggest based on this analysis? Also deternine the parameter setting for LTB case. [10M]
2. Ganesh is interested in purchasing a car. There are four models which are in his zone of
consideration but he is confused about which model to purchased. Because he is aware about
MADM techniques he decides to apply TOPSIS to help decide the best car for his requirement.
He considers four criteria: style, reliability, milage and cost to make a decision and assign 0.1,
0.4, 0.3, 0.2 respectively as preference weights to the four criteria. He rates the four models on
the above criteria using scale 1-9 (1 being extremely low and 9 being extremely high). Hel

Simulated Annealing is to be used to minimize the mathematical function x-2x+x. A six digit
binary coded string 1 0 1 101 is used as an initial solution signitlying value ofx. Perform three
iterations for SA using swap operator to create neighborhood solution as
a. Iteration 1: exchange II and IV digit
b. Iteration 2: exchange I and V digit
C. lteration 3: exchange III and IV digit
Use temperatures 10000, 5000 and 1000 and random numbers 0.34, 0.91, 0.22.
