Stream Selection Procedure – Grade 10 to 11

•The information is first shared with the parents during the general
orientation session in the month of April.​
•The Career Counselling Dept conducts several awareness sessions throughout the
year to enable students to make the best choice.​
•A detailed orientation session exclusively regarding stream selection is conducted
for both parents and students. (For AY 2023-24 it is on Friday, 27 October'23).​
•Parents receive an email with the Annual scores of the student along
with the selection criteria(cut off %) for each subject combination. The
email also consists of the link to the form to be filled within a specific deadline.​
•The results of the selection are intimated by an email to all applicants on the last day
of the board examinations.​
•The decision of the selection committee is final.​

MATHEMATICS – BASIC / STANDARD

• The Standard Mathematics is meant for students who wish to


opt for Mathematics at Sr. Secondary level

• The Basic Mathematics is for those who are NOT keen to


pursue Mathematics as a subject at higher levels.

• The stream selection is based on internal assessment(ONLY): as


single paper.
• Syllabus, class room teaching and internal assessment for both
the levels of examination remain the same.
Stream Allotment - Important Points

•The stream allotment is purely based on school examinations. ​

•The learner will be granted admission to the school AND to the stream of his/her
choice only if he /she satisfies all the admission criteria informed by the school.​

•The decision of the school based on the admission criteria is final and not subject
to any appeal. ​

•There will be no changes in stream based on the Board Results. ​ ​



•School will not be liable and responsible for any delays in announcing the final
choice of streams and choices. ​
Other School Policies
ATTENDANCE EXPECTATION

•As per the KHDA expectations, students


must maintain 98% attendance.​

•Absence of more than 14 days consecutively or a total of 21


days in a school year may result in the child not being enrolled
for the next academic year.​
ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY....

Absenteeism – frequent or habitual absence from school​



•4 incidents of absenteeism (without a valid reason) in a short period will result in
a written warning to students and notification to parents.​

•Attendance is noted in students’ progress reports.​

•In case of additional 3 incidents, parent and student will be called to meet with
the Principal​

•In case of further additional incidents, the course of action will be at the discretion
of the school.​
...ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY

Tardiness – being late in coming to school at the start of the school day

q Names of students who arrive late are noted in the ERP system.

q Five incidents of late coming in a month will result in a written warning to


students and notification to parents.

q In case of continued tardiness, parent and student will be called to meet with
the principal.

q Tardiness will be noted in students’ progress reports, and the grade awarded
for MEP will reflect the tardiness record of the child.
ABSENCE POLICY

• Students who represent the school for any school programme are given
due attendance weightage for the same.

• No Retest is conducted for any assessment that is missed. Students must


ensure that they are present for the Terminal Examination in October and
March, as promotion to the next class is subject to the same.

• Provision for DL: There is no provision for DL unless directed by the


governing authorities. Approval of any such application will purely be based on
the directives received by the school from the concerned government
LEAVE APPLICATION
Excused leave can be applied before proceeding on leave or after the return​

•Leave application forms are available on the school portal and parents can fill
and submit it before proceeding on leave. In case the parent applies for leave in
advance, it reaches the Supervisor for approval. Approval depends on the
submission of appropriate supporting documents. Upon approval by the
Supervisor, the excused leave will be auto-populated in the system for the period
of absence.​

•In case the parent applies for leave after return, the teacher will mark the
student as ‘Absent’, and the system will change the ‘Absent ‘ status to
‘Excused Leave’ when the Supervisor approves the leave.​
GROUNDS FOR EXCUSED LEAVE ….

•Illness of the student – Medical leave exceeding 2 days will require submission
of a medical certificate attested by DHA/ MOH. Period of leave - as certified by
the Doctor. Absence during exams without DHA / MOH attested Medical
Certificate would be marked as unexcused leave (UL).​
•​
•Illness of parents (treatment outside Dubai) – Medical Certificate, report, proof of
travel. Period of leave: Case specific- at the discretion of the school.​

•Sudden bereavement necessitates travel outside Dubai. Photocopy of the death
certificate and proof of travel to be attached as proof. Period of leave – maximum
one week.​
…..GROUNDS FOR EXCUSED LEAVE
•Pilgrimage (Hajj) – Relevant evidence with travel documents (Max.
15 days)​

•Wedding in the family of nearest relative (outside Dubai). Invitation card
and travel documents to be submitted – (Max. 1 week) ​
All leave applications need to be supported with relevant documents​

• Students representing the school in competitions/programmes where such
participation has been directed by the school will be considered
as EXCUSED LEAVE and will be given attendance.​
Early Exit and Exit Slip
Exit slip will be issued under the following circumstances (ONLY)​
1.An unavoidable genuine reason like a doctor's appointment, pp renewal, visa
appointment etc.​
2.The child falls sick while in school and the school doctor advises to go home.​
3.The student misplaces / forgets the OT ID Card.​

Points to remember:​
• Students leaving campus before the end of day MUST be picked up by
the parents (ONLY).​
• No ST student will be allowed to go by OT unless the parent comes to pick.​
• The request for early pick up MUST reach the class teacher the previous
day or at least by 7:00am (Girls) / 9:00am(Boys).​
