1.1 Introduction :-
The road from Marpalli - Regulwahi is part of the Link Route No. LR-46 in Etapalli Taluka of District
Gadchiroli. This bridge is proposed in New connectivity Program under 'PMGSY"

1.3 Necessity :-
The Link Route No. LR-46, connects the village Kasurwahi & Kohka to the Taluka headquarter at Etapalli,
Presently there is an Unbridge Crossing at the proposed bridge site. Hence it is necessary to construct a
Submersible bridge at this proposed location so that the bridge is not overtopped during ordinary bridge.

1.7 Hydraulic Data :-
The hudraulic details of the river at the proposed site of bridge are given below :-
1.8 Foundation :-
As per trail pit result, rock is available at workable depth, hence Open Foundation is proposed. The trial pits
result is attached with this DPR. The bearing capacity of strata at foundation level is 20 t/m 2.
1.9 Proposal :
A) Bridge Propoer
It is proposed to construct a submersible bridge clearing H.F.L. R.L. 88.43 m
The length of the bridge required is 16.00 Mtr. 2 Spans of 8.00 mtr C/c
(Right Angle Crossing)
For the various bridge components Type drawings of Designs Circle (Bridge), P.W.D. Govt. Of
Maharashtra are adopted as mentioned below.
B) Approaches
Submersible Approaches of 68m. On Marpalli side and 100m. Length on Regulwahi Side are considered in
the proposal.
1.10 Specifications :-
Quality Assurance handbook, Vol-I and Vol.-II, Specification for Rural Roads (2004), Rural Road Manual,
IRC : SP:20 (2002), IRC: SP : 13: 2004, IRC : SP : 82 : 2008 and Guidelines for Bridge Design by Designs
Circle, PWD, Govt. Of Maharashtra are followed. Type drawings issued by Design Circle, PWD, Govt. of
Maharashtra are adopted for Abutments. Piers, Caps, Slab, Wearing Course, Returns, etc.

1.12 Lead :-
Govt. Quarry is not available near the work site, hence nearest private quarries for material are considered
for preparing the estimate. Shortest distance is considered for obtaining quarry materials. Detailed Quarry
Chart and Lead Statement is enclosed separately.
1.13 Rates :-
Schedule of Rates (SOR) - 2015-2016 for PMGSY work in Maharashtra is adopted for preparing the
estimate.
2.3 Hydraulies :-
2.3.1 Hydraulic done at the cross section 60m U/s of proposed site.
2.3.3 Observed High flood level is considered as design H.F.L. To fix road top level and length of
bridge as per site condition.
2.3.4 The bridge is proposed to be designed (5.95 in overall width) submersible bridge.
2.4 Foundation :-
As per trial pit result, rock is not available at workable, depth, hence Raft Foundation is proposed. The
Trial pits result is attached with this DPR. The bearing capacity of strata at foundation level is 20 t/m 2.
Open foundation top 2.5m below the L.B.L. & Solid Return 1.5m below the L.B.L
2.5 Proposal :-
2.5.1 It is proposed to construct submerssible bridge having total length 16 Mtr.

2.5.2 It is proposed to provide - 2 Spans of 8.00 mtr C/c (Right Angle crossing) the RTL works out
as below with this proposal.
2.5.3 With the above proposal the percentage obstruction works out to be 17.7 % which is less than
30%.
2.5.4 As per Designs Circle (Bridge), P.W.D. Govt. Of Maharashtra, the bridge is designed for two
train of Class-A
2.6 Sub Structures :-
It is proposed to provide solid type Abutment as per Type Dwg. No. BR-2/2002/55 & Solid type Pier as per
Type Dwg. No. BR-2/2002/43. Abutment & Pier are proposed in CC M-15 with surface reinforcement. The
top width of pier and abutment are 0.90m. The batter for Abutment is 1 in 6 (inner side) & 1:5 (outer side)
2.6.2 Solid Returns in M-15 as per type drawing are proposed for 2.96m length on either side of the
bridge.
2.7 Superstructure :-
2.7.1 The superstructure is proposed in M-25 as per Design Circle's type drawing of Solid Slab of
8.00m C/c.
2.7.2 Tar paper bearing are proposed below the solid slab.
2.7.3 As the bridge is submersible Pipe Railing is proposed. Type drawing of Design Circle is
adopted for it.
2.8 Standards :-
2.8.1 The bridge is proposed to be intermediate lane clear width 5.50m (overall width 5.95m),
submersible bridge without footpath.
2.8.2 The bridge site lies in Seismic Zone-II. The type drawings adopted from Design Circle which
designed for this Seismic Zone-II.
2.9 Miscellancous :-
2.9.1 The RCC Wearing Coat is proposed of 80mm thick in M-30.
2.9.2 25mm thick bituminous pad for expansion joints are proposed.
2.10 Approaches :-
Submersible Approaches of 68m. On Marpalli side and 100m. Length on Regulwahi Side are considered
in the proposal.

Proposal for approval DSD of Bridges is received from Executive Engineer (PMGSY), MRRDA Division Gadchiroli is
received vide letter under reference and same is scrutinised in this office, and approval is accorded as below.
Proposal for construction of bridge of chainage _____________ 4/950 __________ on Kasurwahi - Kohka Road
road with hydraulic details mentioned above for a linear waterway of 16.00 mtr with 2 Spans 8 mts with Open
Foundation is hereby approved.
Note :
1 Type drawings issued by Design circle in the year 2002 shall be adopted for execution of bridges including RCC
drawings etc.
2 Stoppers on D/s side of pier cap level shall be provided as per shown in drawing in submerssible.
3 EE shall ensure that the stoppers on D/s at pier cap level shall invariobly be provided during execution.
4 EE shall check the strata of foundation and decide suitability of foundation during execution and shall not rely on trial
pit taken during survey.
5 EE shall prepared DPR for bridge based on SOR 2017-18 and submit for according technical sanction.

TECHNICAL REPORT
Name of work : The Detaile Survey Data for the Construction of High level Minor Bridge in Km 4/950
on Marpalli - Regulwahi Road in Etapalli Taluka of district Gadchiroli.
Authority : This work is included Under "Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana" (LWE Block) for
the year 2016-17
Necessity : This proposed Linki Route (L- 045) in Block - Etapalli is serving the
___________________________________________ having existing Cart Track.
This is a rural road connecting rural habitation to Main nearby Market center, Health
centre and Education centre etc. It is necessary to construct bridge to give all
weather connectivity to unconnected habitations.
Present Position : In Km 4/950 at present there is an Unbridge crossing. Also during rainy season the
road gets interrupted for 2 days (8 to 10 times) in flood, and villagers of these
villages get disconnected from Taluka Place, Main Market, Health Centre and
Education centre etc. So to make the road all weather and maintain interruptions
within limit, it is necessary to construct a High level Minor Bridge at this crossing.
Provision : Proposed 2 Span of 8.00m C/c High Level Minor Bridge with Open Foundation &
Right Angle Crossing.
