1.0 Introduction
transactions make people's life more convenient and easier, and payment is completed by
electronic smart devices. In the 21st century, the electronic wallet has been invented.
Nowadays, the electronic payment system has become an indispensable part of our life. The
term "e-wallet" is a form of digital wallet that allows an individual to connect their debit or
credit card to a digital wallet in order to make any transaction (Digital Wallet, 2019) . In
addition to debit or credit cards, e-cards enable consumers to store their physical card
information and bank account numbers to perform specific payment behaviours (Ray, 2017 ).
Moreover, when the user uses an e-wallet to make a payment is more convenient and faster
than the traditional banking system, because e-wallet payment can save time and money for
users (Blockchains, 2018). In addition, payment systems using electronic wallets are widely
used for transactions because users think this method is beneficial to them (Gokilavani, 2018)
However, the growth of e-wallets in Malaysia is mainly due to several facts, one of
which is the ease and convenience users can use e-wallets for transactions, followed by
security and cost savings (Nizam, 2018). Then, there are more than 42 e-wallets officially
licensed by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) in Malaysia, six of which are the most popular
and widely used, which are respectively AEON Wallet, Boost, BigPay, GrabPay, WeChat
Recently, with the government's initiative to build a cashless society, mobile payment
technology has received particular attention. Therefore, the phenomenon of users using e-
wallet has become more and more obvious in Malaysia. But others are growing more slowly
than their countries. The rapid development of this cashless technology has made software
developers and users more concerned about the security of their payments.
6
After, technological progress in the e-commerce industry and the popularity of
smartphones have promoted research on users' willingness to use e-wallets. As the e-wallet
behaviour of users in using e-wallets for the benefit of the developers of the E-Wallet.
Moreover, this report reviews the literature aimed at advancing the body of knowledge by
using UTAUT2 (Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) and presenting a
conceptual model that combines theory with techniques that also feature perceived security
and behavioural intentions. Besides that, this report is also based on a systematic literature
review method and can study more accurate results, including the study of users' behavioural
intention to use wallets in Malaysia. Finally, this paper provides practical implications for the
extension of the UTAUT2 theory under perceived security and subsequently helps e-wallet
service providers design appropriate strategies when planning and increasing users'

RO3: To study the relationship between E-Wallet security and safety and users using E-
wallet behaviour.

1.3 Hypothesis
To scrutinize the association between the independent and dependent variables for this
paper, four hypothesises are proposed as below.
H0: There is no association between popularization and the consumer using E-wallet
behaviour in Malaysia.
H1: There is an association between popularization and the consumer using E-wallet
behaviour in Malaysia.
H2: There is an association between convenience and the consumer using E-wallet behaviour
in Malaysia.
H2: There is an association between security & safety and the consumer using E-wallet
behaviour in Malaysia.
H2: There is an association between ease of use and the consumer using E-wallet behaviour
in Malaysia.

2.0 Significance of the study
This report will be of great benefit to all parties in the field of research. Among the
biggest beneficiaries are users and the developers of E-wallets. In addition, because of this
research, developers can develop better prevention systems to reduce user concerns, so that
their applications can be safe and convenient. Besides, from the user's point of view, this
report can help users understand the security and convenience of E-wallets. After that, the
popularization and ease of use of the e-wallet also discuss in this report. Moreover, this
report also will help users to use E-Wallet more safely. Finally, it will let users understand the

3.0 Methodology
The quantitative approach will be applied to this research study regarding the factors
affecting the consumer using e-wallet behaviours. In this report, 200 respondents who use the
e-wallet and stay in Malaysia will be selected by using random sampling techniques. After
that, the questionnaire will be created using Google Form which would allow us to use the
survey to collect the data from the respondents. Besides that, the questions of the survey will
be created by reading relevant kinds of literature. Additionally, the primary data is collected
from the online survey, and the secondary data is from the article and public research.
Moreover, the survey data will also be interpreted and analysed using the Statistical Package
