1- Quality Management System (QMS): it is a formalized system that documents processes,
procedures, and responsibilities for achieving quality policies and objectives.
2- Quality management system process flowchart: Customer requirements → Contract Review → Project Planning/Service Design → Service Execution → Measurements, Analysis & Improvements 3- API Spec Q2: specification for quality management system requirements for service supply organizations for the petroleum and natural gas industries. • ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization: a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements. All the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 are generic and are intended to be applicable to any organization, regardless of its type or size, or the products and services it provides. 4- To be a certified organization from the API for Spec Q2: There are two steps: a- Internal auditing: Checking the processes of the documentation of each process including the operations, documentation, purchasing and finance. b- External auditing: It is a more complicated auditing that requires to examine everything in the organization including the personnel, the tools, the inspection procedures, the recertification procedures. 5- The inspection levels for rig parts according to API RP 8B: a- Cat I represents a routine observing of the equipment during operation for indications of inadequate performance. “Fix it if it breaks”. It is needed to isolate the equipment if it shows cracks or excessive wear for further examinations. b- Cat II is close visual inspection for corrosion, deterioration, proper lubrication, deformation, visible external cracks and adjustments. Both Cat I & II are integrated with PM and are done at rig site. c- Cat III requires some disassembly and NDE of critical areas to identify the wears exceeding the manufacturer’s allowable tolerances. d- Cat IV requires removal and disassembly of all primary load-carrying components in controlled environment as well as NDE. Prior to Cat III & IV, paint stripping, steam cleaning, and sand blasting should be done for all the concerned parts to be suitable for inspection.
