Goal Setting is a powerful process for thinking about what you want your life to be and a tool
for turning this vision into reality. The process of setting goals helps you choose where you
want to go in life. By knowing precisely what you want to achieve, you know where you have
to concentrate your efforts and gain clarity, success and happiness.
1. Pick 2 - 3 goals that you would like to start working towards today (see the ‘setting long-term goals’
list on page 1 for reference).
• Visualise what you want to be, do and have. What does it feel like? What do you see and hear?
• Write down your goal in detail as an “I am ... (verb)...” positive statement

2. Look at the goals you have chosen and ask yourself the reflection questions (from sheet 1) about
each one. You can write down your observations below.

3. Decide on one step towards each of your selected goals that you can commit to completing this
week. Write them down.
• What resources do you have or need to achieve your goal? People? Skills? Knowledge?
