Work Immersion 2023

Work immersion is a course requirement for senior high school students in the Philippines to graduate. Students must undergo 80-320 hours of work experience related to their field of specialization to become familiar with the workplace and apply their skills. A recent seminar workshop at San Antonio National High School prepared students for upcoming work immersion placements by discussing the importance of developing strong work ethics, positive attitudes, and good personalities. The seminar speakers emphasized following the DepEd guidelines for work immersion outlined in DepEd Order 30 S. 2017.

“Work Immersion 2023”

Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior High School
student has to undergo work immersion in a business organization/establishment whose work
requirements are related to the specialization. Through this work immersion, the students are
exposed to and become familiarized with work-related environment related to their field of
specialization. “Work immersion is a key feature in the senior high school curriculum. It
can be conducted in different ways depending on the purposes and needs of the
learners,” Education Secretary Leonor Briones said. The guidelines said work immersion –
which can range from 80 to 320 hours – will enable students to become familiar with
the workplace, experience work place simulation and apply their competencies in areas of
specialization.

The Senior High Teachers of San Antonio National High School conducted a 1 day,
seminar workshop regarding on Work Ethics, Attitude, Values and Personality Development of
the students in preparation for the upcoming work immersion deployment. Mr. Marcial B.
Bellen, Principal II of San Antonio National High School, shares his insights about the
importance of Work Ethics and DepEd Order regarding work Immersion. In the other hand Mr.
Fulgencio B. Beren III briefly discussed the Preparation of Documents for work Immersion to
the students while Mrs. Daphinne Kay S. Cambe tackled the prominence of Curriculum Exit in
Senior High.s
The more we feed our mind with positive thoughts, the more you can attract great things, something worth
remembering last seminar shared by Dr. Marife B. Molato, assistant department head of senior high school. She
discussed the significance of Personality Development and having positive attitude towards work.

Mrs. Theresa B. Burac Head Teacher III of San Antonio National High School reminds the students that
Talent is a Gift but your attitude, work ethics, and character are things you have to develop in yourself as she talks
about the relevance of work ethics in work productivity.
The most important part of the seminar was discussed by the Immersion Focal Person, Mrs. Maria Amelia
B. Solano. She explained to the students the purpose and importance of DepEd Order 30 S. 2017 that the teachers,
students and work immersion partners should follow the guidelines given by the Department of Education regarding
Work Immersion.
