Iot Protocol Stack: Oleh: Ersa Nur Maulana 1202218443
The document discusses the Internet of Things (IoT) protocol stack. The IoT protocol stack consists of 5 layers - application layer, transport layer, network layer, data link layer, and physical layer. Each layer has specific responsibilities and commonly used protocols to enable seamless communication and data exchange between IoT devices. Understanding the IoT protocol stack layers allows businesses and individuals to leverage IoT technologies.

WHAT IS he Internet of Things (IoT) refers to a network of physical devices, vehicles, home
THE IOT appliances, and other items embedded with
electronics, software, sensors, and
PROTOCOL connectivity that enables these objects to
connect and exchange data. IoT has
STACK? revolutionized the way we live and work,
creating opportunities for businesses to optimize operations and for individuals to enhance their daily lives. TO ENABLE THE SEAMLESS COMMUNICATION AND DATA EXCHANGE BETWEEN IOT DEVICES, A PROTOCOL STACK IS USED. IoT Protocol Stack Layers: 1. Application Layer: This layer is responsible for defining the data format and content that is transmitted between IoT devices. The application layer protocols include CoAP, MQTT, and HTTP. 2. Transport Layer: The transport layer is responsible for providing reliable and secure data transmission between IoT devices. The transport layer protocols include TCP, UDP, and DTLS. 3. Network Layer: The network layer provides the necessary connectivity between IoT devices. It ensures that the data is transmitted from the source device to the destination device using the most efficient route. The network layer protocols include IPv4, IPv6, and 6LoWPAN. 4. Data Link Layer: This layer is responsible for providing a reliable communication channel between the IoT devices. It ensures that the data is transmitted without any errors or losses. The data link layer protocols include IEEE 802.11, ZigBee, and Bluetooth. 5. Physical Layer: The physical layer provides the physical connectivity between the IoT devices. It defines the hardware specifications for transmitting and receiving data. The physical layer protocols include Wi-Fi, NFC, and RFID. CONCLUSION The IoT protocol stack plays a crucial role in enabling seamless communication and data exchange between IoT devices. By understanding the different layers of the protocol stack, businesses and individuals can leverage the power of IoT to enhance their operations and daily lives. Thank You
