I. INTRODUCTION
A. DAILY ROUTINE

A pleasant morning to everyone! Have a good life brought by K-12 to all of us!

Before we get started on our discussion for today, let’s

seek first the guidance from our Dear Lord Jesus Christ.
Please be rise. May I request anyone to please lead the
prayer.

Mr./Ms.____ kindly leads the prayer. Student will lead the prayer.

You may now all be seated. Thank you! Sir.

So, we’re blessed by this day, and it’s nice to see your
welcoming faces here. Before anything else, I would like
to remind all of you of the most essential part of the class.
It’ll be first, keep yourself grooming and comfortable,
minimize distractions and noises. Pick up the piece of
missy things around your respective chairs. May you
behave properly and respectfully and lastly don’t ever
forget to smile. Is that fine, class? Yes! Sir

Alright! May I request the secretary or someone who’s

checking your attendance today. Please report in the class.
Is there any absent for today? Class? None. Sir! Everyone is around and ready to learn

Very Good! That’s great thing to heard.

B. REVIEW/RECAP

The last time we met, I’ve discussed to you the one of the
types of evidence of evolution which is the comparative
anatomy. So, let review your previous lesson by guessing
the presented pictures and decodes the shuffled word. I
will call six (6) representatives to share your insight
regard the present images.

Is that clear class?

Yes! Sir.
(Pictures of Animals represent with Analogous Structure)
Shuffled word: “AUSOGOLAN”
Okay, what is analogous structure? ANALOGOUS

Very good, Mr. ____________ Analogous structures are those organisms with similar
origin of structure but different function.
(Pictures of Animal represent Comparative Anatomy)
Shuffled word: “CRTAAIPVEMO ANYOMTA”
Who can tell what comparative anatomy is?
COMPARATIVE ANATOMY
That’s nice remarks Ms. ____________. Comparative Anatomy is a study of similarities and
differences of the structure of the species.
(Pictures of Animals represent with Homologous
Structure) Shuffled word: “HLGSUMOOOO”
Aside from analogous, homologous structure are those
organisms with similar functions but different origins of
body structure. HOMOLOGOUS
(Pictures of Animals represent with Vestigial Structure)
Shuffled word: “VSTIALGIE”
Vestigial structures are those organisms that have body
structure that has no functions or useless. VESTIGIAL
(Pictures of Animals represent with Fossil)
Shuffled word: “DEEECSVNI”
Fossils and Embroyic Developments are some of the
evidence on the theory of evolution. EVIDENCES

(Pictures of Animals represent with Origin)

Shuffled word: “OGNRII”
I guess that most of you already understand the previous
lesson which is Comparative Anatomy. So, do you still ORIGIN
have any questions?
If that’s the case, let’s proceed to the new topic.
None, Sir!
II. INTERACTION
A. LESSON PROPER
Class please listen, our new topic for today is all about
Embryonic Development as one of the evidence of the
theory of evolution.

Alright! During your lower grades, your previous science

teacher discussed to you how sperm cell and eggs cell
meet. Once, that egg cells and sperm cell meets in the
fallopian tube, the fertilizations begin. The egg cell starts
to travel at the uterus and start to attached on its tissue.
The cells will multiply into two or more cells and start a
conception. And, another life begin to exist in the
mother’s womb.

Similar to the conceptions, our lesson today is to know the

similar structures and embryonic development of different
organisms or species.

But first what is embryology? Who has an idea about Embryology is a branch of biology that study’s embryo
embryology? and its development.

So, please take a look on the picture.

STAGE 1

It is an embryo of different animals.

Anyone, please look at the picture, what did you

observed?
Yes. Those are the embryo of fish, salamander, tortoise,
Precisely. It is an embryo. chick, hog, calf, rabbit and human.

What are does animals that represent on the pictures?

Very Good! On the first stage of embryonic development

of different animal, what anatomical structure did you find
most likely or similar? The embryonic development of animal on the first stage
are likely similar to each other. They have tails,
Anyone? backbone or spines, gills, eyes, and head.

That’s a good observation. Alright! On the first stage of

embryonic development, it suggested that most of the
given animals are likely similar to one another. The
development of their structure is alike especially for
human and animals.

STAGE 2
Yes Sir.

On the second stage of embryonic development, is there a

change in terms of their anatomy?

Yes! On the second stage of embryonic development there

is a change when it comes to the other parts of the
embryo. The fish and salamander develop differently
among the others, while the remaining examples are the Yes, Sir. They start to develop their backbones or spinal
same. cords.

Aside from what I observed, do you see any noticeable

changes?

Yes Sir.
Very Good! Aside from what I observed, the spinal cord
on the second stage is visible. Meaning that they are all
vertebrates organisms.
Is that clear class?

Please observed what happen during the stage 3

development.

STAGE 3

Sir. On the stage 3, the other parts of the animals

become more visible unlike with the second and first
stage.

Can you give your insight about the third stage of

development?
The firs and salamander develop differently among the
tortoise, chick, hog, calf, rabbit and human. Hogs, Calf
Very good insight. and rabbit still have similar anatomy.

How about the others? Who can share?

Nice observation!

It is true that from the third stage of embryonic

development, the anatomical parts of animals and humans
have visible and emphasize differently. Meaning that their
first stage to second stage suggested that they are related
ancestors because of their similarities in anatomical
structure.

The embryonic development suggested also, at the

beginning of conception to birth, it evident that they have
likeliness among the other organism.
Also, studies shows that species that are closely related
exhibit similar embryonic development. Even when in Yes, Sir.
adult stage, the organisms are quite different.

Do you agree class?

III. INTEGRATION
A. APPLICATION
At this juncture, you are going to draw the stage 3 (only)
of embryonic development in page no 312. Then, encircle
the body structures that are similar to one another.

Did my instruction clear?

Yes Sir!

B. GENERALIZATION

It seems that most of you already know that Embryonic

Development

Can embryonic Development be an evidence that

evolution took place? Similarity in structure may suggest that organisms share
common ancestor.
It is Embryonic Development also related to
Aside from that? Anyone? Comparative anatomy because both of them will
determine their anatomical structures.

Nice Impression! Class please take note that, during the

conceptions of embryo it suggested that most of
organisms are likely similar, meaning to say that all
organism are related to one another because it reveals
through studying the anatomy of embryo.

Okay! Do you have any questions, regard to our topic

today? Do you have any concerns or misunderstanding None Sir, anything is clear and explained well.
about the topic?
So, if that’s the case, get ¼ sheet of paper. We will be
having a short quiz about this topic.

C. EVALUATION

Determine whether the following statement is TRUE or

FALSE.

1. Embryology is a branch of biology that study’s embryo

and its development.
2. Embryos of many different vertebrates look much more
similar than the adult organism.
3. The embryo of fishes, salamanders, lizards, birds, cats,
and humans are
similar during the first stage of their embryonic
development
4. Embryology is important to understanding a species' 1. True
evolution, since some homologous structures can be seen 2. True
only in embryo development. 3. True
5. Charles Darwin is the proponent of the Theory of 4. True
Need. 5. False
IV. AGREEMENT/ASSIGNMENT

Answer the Activity No 3 and 4 page 311- 316 on you

Learning Material Science 10 Book.

Did you understand your assignment?

If that is so, may I request everyone to stand and bid Yes Sir.
me good bye class.

Goodbye Sir,
Thank You for giving us new knowledge.
Keep safe and God Bless.
