This checklist is designed for a efficient operation flow for one pilot, but I tried to keep PREFLIGHT & COCKPIT PREPERATION
it as close as possible to the real procedures. The procedures are intentionally
simplified in some regards, to make this guide accessible for beginners. Fuel/Load-Toolbar Panel SET

DEUTSCH SAFETY CHECK

Die Checkliste ist für einen effizienten Bedienungs Flow für einen Piloten gemacht,

Service Ceiling 25.000 ft - depress SQUIB TEST pb and checkt Lights
- select TEST sw on FIRE and verify Warnings
- select TEST sw on FAULT and verify Lights

- on 10% NH → right Condition Lever → FTR
ATPCS Automatic Takeoff Power Control System
- on 45% NH verify START 2 ON Light extinguishes
HOTEL MODE - on stabilzed Engine verify DC GEN2 Fault Light = OFF
Engine 2 is running with Propeller Brake ON, which prevents the Propeller - set ENG START selector to OFF/ABORT
from turning. Gives DC Power and Bleed Air for Packs.
OVERHEAD PANEL
POWER LEVER Fuel Pumps both ON
Power Lever (PL): The Power Lever stays in NOTCH during Takeoff, Landing Gear Lights verify 3 GREEN
Climb and Cruise. Power is managed by PWR MGT Knob. During
Engine 1 Fire Test PERFORM
Descent, Approach and Landing - Power Lever is set manually to maintain
desired Speed. FMS Speeds in AUTO Mode are advisory only execept in - depress SQUIB TEST pb and checkt Lights
IAS AP Mode. - select TEST sw on FIRE and verify Warnings
NOSE WHEEL STEERING - select TEST sw on FAULT and verify Lights
Seems to be bugged right now. Nav Light ON
Logo Lights AS REQ
ENG Start Selector OFF
DC Generators both ON
Emergency Exit Lights ARM
Windshield HTG both ON
Probes HTG all 3 ON
ACW Generators both ON
Hydraulic Pumps all 3 ON
Oxygen Main Supply ON
Oxygen Pax Supply OFF
Engine 2 Fire Test PERFORM (if not done already)
Verify no white OFF Lights on Overhead Panel

COCKPIT PREPERATION (cont) STARTING ENGINE

Doors (EFB) CLOSED
MCDU MENU → FMS 1 → INIT → FPLN INIT → ROUTE Beacon ON
- enter FROM/TO and FLIGHT ID, the press EXEC Passenger Signs ON
- verify you are now on FPLN Page Power Levers GI
- enter Enroute Waypoints Condition Levers FUEL SO
- enter Departure by selecting respective Airport >LSK EWD - Call „BEFORE PROPELLER ROTATION“ Checklist
- enter Arrival by selecting respective Airport >LSK (optional at
this Stage) A) ENGINE START WITH GPU (NO HOTEL MODE)
- delete FPLN DISCONTINUITIES with CLR and >LSK
- press EXEC when done with or after you made changes Engine 2 START
- set ENG START selector (OHP) to A+B, A or B
PERF → PERF INIT → WEIGHT - press START2 Pb and verify ON Light illuminates
- enter ZFW (see EFB) or LONG CLICK on LSK - on 10% NH → right Condition Lever → FTR
- enter Fuel On Board (see EFB) or LONG CLICK on LSK - on 45% NH verify START2 ON Light extinguishes
→ RETURN or - on stabilzed Engine verify DC GEN2 Fault Light = OFF
PERF → PERF INIT - right Condition Lever → AUTO
- enter CRZ ALT DC EXT PWR (OHP) OFF
- choose CRZ MODE (Max or Longe Range) AC WILD EXT PWR (OHP) OFF
→ RETURN or GPU (EFB) REMOVED
PERF Chocks & Tail Prop (EFB) REMOVED
- verify V1, VR, V2 are filled PUSHBACK IF REQ
- verify or set Transition Altitude Engine 1 START
- verify or set ENG START selector (OHP) to A+B, A or B
MAIN PANEL - press START1 pb and verify ON Light illuminates
- on 10% NH → left Condition Lever → FTR
Takeoff Data (MFD - PERF Page) CONFIRM - on 45% NH verify START1 ON Light extinguishes
Fuel Used (MFD - PERF Page) RESET - on stabilzed Engine verify DC GEN1 Fault Light = OFF
Transponder (MFD - SURV Page) SET & STBY - left Condition Lever → AUTO
PFD, MFD & EWD (EICAS) SET AS DES - set ENG START selector to OFF/ABORT
Altimeter / Baro Knob SET LOCAL
STBY Altimeter SET LOCAL B) ENGINE START FROM HOTEL MODE
PWR MGT Selectors T.O.
Landing Gear Lights verify 3 GREEN Chocks & Tail Prop (EFB) REMOVED
PUSHBACK IF REQ
FGCP PANEL (AP PANEL) Engine 2 Propeller START
- press AUX HYD Pump Pb on Pedestal
FD verify ON - Prop Brake Switch → OFF
NAV Source AS DES - verify Propeller RPM NP% → positive
HDG DEP RWY HDG - right Condition Lever → AUTO
ROLL MODE (HDG/NAV) AS DES Engine 1 START
PITCH MODE (IAS/VS) AS DES - verify or set ENG START selector (OHP) to A+B, A or B
ALT Preselector CRUISE or ATC CLEARED ALTITUDE - press START 1 pb and verify ON Light illuminates
Speed Mode (FMS/MAN) (pb left of CPT PFD) AS DES - on 10% NH → left Condition Lever → FTR
Speed Selector if MAN MODE (left of CPT PFD) AS DES - on 45% NH verify START 1 ON Light extinguishes
- on stabilzed Engine verify DC GEN1 Fault Light = OFF
PEDESTAL - left Condition Lever → AUTO
- set ENG START selector to OFF/ABORT
Weather Radar STBY
Idle Gate verify GROUND (pulled) AFTER STARTING ENGINES / BEFORE TAXI
Aileron & Rudder Trim ZERO
Elevator Trim SET FOR T.O. (see EFB or MCDU WEIGHT) Overhead & Main Panel verify no OFF OR FAULT LIGHTS
ATPCS Test PERFORM ENG START Selector verify OFF
- set rotary Selector to either ENG and verify Warnings Anti Icing AS REQ
- repeat for other Side Anit Skid Test PERFORM

TAXI CRUISE
- use ND Map Mode for Airport Diagram if desired PWR MGT Selector CRZ (after reaching CRZ Speed)
- release PARKING BRAKE Navigation CHECK
- test BRAKES during taxi Top Of Descent (TOD) DETERMINE / CROSS CHECK
- verify working Flight Instruments (i.e. Turn Corrdinator)
LATEST 20-30 NM BEFORE TOD

- enter ILS Frequencies into both Nav Radios

ILS APPROACH & LANDING
- line up & brake
- release Brakes Approach at ~ 3.000 ft above Destination Elevation or use
- Power Levers → NOTCH proper Procedure Altitudes.
- @ VR slowly rotate ~ 3° per sec → ~ 9-10° Pitch
- @ postive Rate → GEAR UP 20 - 15 NM OUT (latest at 3.000 ft AGL)
- Yaw Damper → ENGAGE - descelerate to ~ 200 - 210 KIAS
- maintain at least V2+5 KIAS - verify ILS Freqencies are set (at least in NAV 1)
- Autopilot → ON at own Discretion
15 - 12 NM OUT
@ ACCELERATION ALTITUDE (1.000 ft) - activate APPROACH SPEEDS in MCDU PERF Page
- lower Nose to accelerate to 170 KIAS if flying manually - descelerate to 170 KIAS
- Power Levers → maintain in NOTCH - Intercept Localizer
- PWR MGT → select CLB - on LOC Intercept Course - Switch to HDG Mode
- select Speed 170 KIAS on SPD Selector if not in FMS Mode - select V/LOC1 as NAV Source
- @ VmLB/F Speed ~130-140 KIAS → FLAPS UP - select APP Mode on AP
- maintain 170 KIAS until Glides Slope or 2.000 ft AGL
CLIMB PROFILE
ON GLIDE SLOPE (latest at 2.000 ft AGL)
Power Lever = NOTCH / PWR MGT = CLB - Power Levers FLIGHT IDLE
SPEED = 170 KIAS / use IAS Mode on Autopilot for Climb - set FLAPS 15°
- LANDING GEAR DOWN (below 170 KIAS)
AFTER TAKE OFF & CLIMB - set FLAPS 30° (below 150 KIAS)
- stabilize at VAPP
Landing Gear verify UP - select Missed Approach Altitude &
Flaps verify UP - PWR MGT set to T.O.
Taxi Lights OFF EWD - Call „BEFORE LANDING“ Checklist

Yaw Damper ON @ 1.000 FT AGL (~3 NM OUT)
Air Condition AS REQ - be stabelized and fully configured, otherwise GO AROUND
Anti Icing AS REQ - stable on LOC and GS (max. 1 DOT deviation)
EWD - Call „AFTER TAKEOFF“ Checklist - max. 20 Knots more than VAPP
Landing Gear verify DOWN 3 GREEN
@ TRANSITION ALTITUDE Flaps verify 30°/FULL
Altimeters SET STANDARD PWR MGT verify T.O.
Landing Lights ON
@ 10.000 ft AP & Yaw Damper OFF (latest @ 500 ft AGL)
Landing Lights OFF
Passenger Signs AS DES @ THRESHOLD
- at 30 ft Callout → Power Levers IDLE
CRUISE PROFILE - at 20 ft Callout → slowly start Flaring
- after Mainwheels touched down, slowly push the Nose down
Power Lever = NOTCH / PWR MGT = CRZ
- Power Levers into Ground Idle and then REVERSE
SPEED = 245 KIAS
- keep slight Pressure on Controls to keep the Nose down
- REVERSE OFF at ~ 40 KIAS, use Brakes if required
