CS Lab 10

This document describes an electrical engineering experiment on designing a controller using root locus analysis. The objective was to verify how open-loop poles and zeros affect the shape of the root locus. A student named Malik Ahmed Hayat conducted the experiment and generated MATLAB code and results, presenting figures of different root loci as poles, zeros and gain were varied. The conclusion discusses how the experiment demonstrated how zeros and gain impact the root locus and system transient response.

Conclusion
In this lab we have learnt about the design of a controller via root locus. We have learnt how the
zero effect the root locus and how we can also control overshoot. We have also learnt the effect
of gain on root locus. We have also verified the root locus as a tool for estimating the effect of
open-loop gain upon the transient response of closed-loop systems.
