Course Description
An advanced course in Entrepreneurship, this course provides an in depth analysis of the
concept of entrepreneurship; Characteristics of small business; Business opportunities and
market research; Development of business plan; planning, organizing and managing small scale
agricultural enterprises; Financing and marketing issues for enterprises; Communication and
interpersonal skill in entrepreneurship; Ethics and social responsibilities of business. The course
attempts to provide students with an understanding of the nature of enterprise and
entrepreneurship and introduces the role of the entrepreneur, innovation and technology in the
entrepreneurial process. It is not about only small business or life style businesses but instead the
development of growth- o r i e n t e d businesses - whether for-profit or not-for-profit.
Entrepreneurship is both a way of thinking and of doing. The course content is relevant to those
individuals thinking about starting a business or who are already in business - large or small,
those who are interested in commercializing their own innovations or of others, and those who
advise entrepreneurs or engage in policy making in the entrepreneurship area.

Course Objective

This course is designed to explore the entrepreneurial and managerial aspects of enterprises at
different levels. At the completion of the course students are expected to:

 Be Aware of the basic concepts of entrepreneurship, enterprising,


corporate entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship.
 Develop entrepreneurial attitudes aiming at customer value analysis and value delivery.
 Appraise the role of entrepreneurship to development.
 Understand the ethical and corporate social responsibility issues of modern time
enterprises.
 Develop business plans.
