OUTCOMES-BASIC FORMULA’s
 Formatting Columns to Currency/Decimal Places/Percentages
 Auto-Fill (Copy Series)
 Adding/AutoSum Totals
 Average Formula
 Minimum Formula
 Maximum Formula

Instructions:
 Open the Excel File Named: Surname_StudentNumber_YourGroup_Crime Stats, and Complete the Following:
 In Cell B14 (Under South Africa), Type in “Maximum”. In Cell B15, Type in “Minimum” and in Cell B16, Type in
“Average”.
 Change the Row Height of Row 14, 15 and 16 to “25” and Apply Thick Outside Borders as in B13 (South Africa)
 Apply Bold, Italics and Center Align Cell B:13, B:14, B:15, B:16.
 In Cell C:3 to Cell H:16 apply: Currency, with 2 Decimal Places and; Symbol: R English (South Africa).
 In the Total Column (H:3) Use the “AutoSum” Feature to add the Values Across from Cell C:3 to G:3.
 Use the “Auto Fill” Feature to apply the same Formula Down/Vertical from H:3 to H:11. You have now Added all
the Values Across.
 In Cell C:13 (Next to South Africa) Add the Values Vertical/Down from Cell C:3 to C: 11
 Use the “Auto Fill” Feature to apply from Cell C:13 Across to H:13. You will see Some Value’s show Hash symbols
like this “###########”. Auto Fit those Columns that Show the Hash Symbol, so that you can see their Values.
 In Cell C:14 Determine the Maximum/Highest Value in that Column from C:3 to C:11. Clue “=MAX-Select by
Click and Dragging the Criteria”, and Auto fill across from C:14 to H:14.
 In Cell C:15 Determine the Minimum/Lowest Value in that Column from C:3 to C:11. Clue “=MIN-Select by Click
and Dragging the Criteria”, and Auto fill across from C:15 to H:15.
 In Cell C:16 Determine the Average Value in that Column from C:3 to C:11. Clue “=AVERAGE-Select by Click and
Dragging the Criteria”, and Auto fill across from C:16 to H:16.
 Apply a Thick Outside Border Around B:13 to H:16.
 In Column H (The Total Column), Apply Bold, Center and Italics to all the Values.
 Save your Exercise and Close/Exit.
 Rename your Excel File to: Surname_StudentNumber_YourGroup_Crime Stats3.
 Upload to Blackboard: Activity Submission Tab_All Excel Submissions Folder_Excel Basic Formulas Exercise
