BOLTED TANKS: Zincalume bolted tanks are manufactured from steel sheet which has
been continuously coated with zinc and aluminum to provide the excellent corrosion
resistance which is commonly experienced by tanks that are exposed to the harshest of
atmospheric conditions. Aluminum in the coating provides barrier protection to the steel
whilst the zinc component provides sacrificial cut edge protection.

FIRE PROTECTION: Standard of construction for fire fighting tanks - positive head or
suction lift wherever possible, horizontal centrifugal pumps shall be used, installed with
a positive suction head in accordance with the following:

• At least two thirds of the effective capacity of the suction tank shall be above the
level of the pump center line

• The pump center line shall be no more than 2m above the low water level of the
suction tank

Installing a pipeco fire tank will give you a positive head and suction lift which is always
suggested and ideal for a firefighting system.

STEEL SPECIFICATIONS

‘Ultra-high tensile low alloy steel’ offers exceptionally high yield strength, very fine
molecular structure of steel and controlled internal purity. It combines outstanding
mechanical properties like extremely high strength, fatigue resistance and toughness
with good formability and weldability. In some applications abrasion / wear can result
from the action of abrasive substances in the steel surface and because of the action of
load, impact etc. This type of steel is capable of resisting abrasion / wear & tear. Due to
low carbon equivalent values ©< 0.42% This type of steel doesn’t require pre or post
heating for welding. Moreover, it is insensitive to cold cracking and suitable for all types
of arc welding.

LINER / TANK MEMBRANE

The liners are made by pvc, reinforced with compressed
multilayer nylon mesh with options like butyl rubber or EPDM.
Liners are pre-fabricated as one piece ‘bag’ to fit inside the
water tank. These are non-sticky and chemically stabilized.
With water inflow, it takes the shape of the tank. These liners
are made of food grade, anti-algae material and are UV
stabilized. These are also made according to anti-cracking
technology and tested up to 600,000 folds before any
cracking.

 GLASS FUSED STEEL TANKS

WHAT IS GLASS - FUSED - TO - STEEL TANKS?

After firing at 8200 C-9300 C high temperature, the

molten glass reacts with the steel plate surface to
form an inert and inorganic bond, which combines
the strength & flexibility of steel and outstanding
corrosion resistance of glass, therefore GFS tanks
can provide many advantages over standard
epoxy or welded painted storage tanks. Glass-
Fused- to Steel technology is the premium coating
technology in the storage tanks market, and GFS
tanks are widely used in bio-energy, municipal
sewage, landfill leachate, industrial wastewater
treatment and other applications.

Plate CNC Cutting

Inputting the confirmed drawing into the computer,
bolt holes and openings will be cut by CNC laser cutting
machine automatically.

Automatic Enamel Spraying

Spray the glass coating on both sides of the steel panels
automatically. Coasting thickness is controlled within
250 microns to 450 microns.

High Temperature Firing

After enameling and drying, then firing steel panels in
the oven at the temperatures ranging from 820 ºC -
930 ºC, which facilitates the interfacial fusion reactions
that combine the two materials.

Quality Inspection
Quality inspection is conducted during and after
fabrication, including coating thickness test, 1500V
test, anti-acid test and color consistency test etc.
